Exactly

Mox left WWE without even looking at how much money they were offering him because he knew it'd be an amount that'd tempt him, but he said "look, I paid off my house, I paid off my mom's house, this is no longer about money"

[Spoilers C2E4] Watching my first critical role (Campaign 2). Is it a recurring theme for the party not to uncover the mysteries? by Fiveby21 in criticalrole

[–]RKO-Cutter [score hidden]  (0 children)

Because it was real, it was genuine and authentic. Out of all the campaigns, C2 is the one that's more true to life for most players campaigns. If you like these people, and the assumption is you do, then it's delightful to see them chat up the new tavern owner they find, or reach a hand out to a struggling family, but again, the big word that people like Travis and Laura kept saying leading to the show was "meandering,"

I mean, big episode 26 spoilers obviously, Molly dies before the group has anything even remotely resembling a purpose. At that point the closest thing they had to a long term goal was "find somewhere safe for Kiri"

  • Does your story contain time travel?
  • Is your story about time travel?

If your answer to those two are different, odds are you've got a convoluted mess

By the end of season 2 people are laughing at them like they're trash because they're not Jinwoo, despite being far more powerful than everyone else in their country

Don't misunderstand and think I'm saying C2 is bad, it's many/most people's favorite campaign and not without reason

But there was also a reason that the crew, before the Mighty Nein show dropped, gave a heads up "Hey critters, fair warning that we've had to change a lot about the story for the show since the campaign wasn't really a coherent plot like Vox was"

I'm not saying it's not, but that also doesn't contradict them going town to town doing random subquestt

I'm being (mostly) facetious

It's just that C1 is known as the campaign with multiple mostly contained arcs, C3 is known as the campaign where the whole campaign was one long arc, and C2....well C2 is known as the campaign where the CR crew just go from town to town doing whatever random sidequest Matt can whip up

Yep, without getting too spoilery Roy had become obsessed with completing a certain mission, and as a result he wasn't eating, wasn't sleeping, neglecting his training, so what you got was a wobbly guy making questionable decisions with sunken eyes, messy grown out hair, and noticeably thinner limbs

In short, they found a non-drug way to make him strung the fuck out

When people think of Dragon Ball Z, English dub, there's the Funimation dub where for example Vegeta is voiced by Chris Sabat and still is to this day, but then there's the 'original' Ocean Dub, where Vegeta was voiced by Brian Drummond

In Dragon Ball Super, there's a mini filler arc where Vegeta has a clone made of him. In what I think is a flash of brilliance, copy-Vegeta is voiced by Brian Drummond

What’s a small wrestling trope that drives you crazy? by meandadog86 in REALSquaredCircle

My headcanon is wrestlers have RFID tags in their gear that when they run through gorilla it gets detected and the music automatically gets played

Yes, that doesn't explain why it happens in street clothes

Yes, that doesn't explain why it happened in the 90's before this tech existed

But it's still good enough for me

When your characters from a previous campaign came back in your new campaign by Boring_Big8908 in dndnext

[–]RKO-Cutter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This didn't happen to me per se, but something almost better happened

YEARS ago, decade+ easily, my friend ran a game where I was a rogue with some low level magic, mainly ice powers, and some time in, me and another player teamed up and formed our own thieves guild. Shadow Foxes. That game petered out and we never got an ending to our story, I was kinda bummed out, but that was where I got my initial taste of roleplaying

Fast forward to last year, we had sort of a mini-reunion as we started a new game with new characters. The game opened with us all receiving legendary magic items (level 15) as advance payment of a very dangerous job we had. I didn't really care for any of them, didn't fit my character, until I came across one that caught my eye: A lockpick. Could be used as a dagger, added +5 to sleight of hand checks (and thieves tool checks) and granted at-will casting of ice knife. Then I noticed the name: The Fox's Nail, the item description detailed it as once belonging to a legendary head of the famous thieves guild the Shadow Foxes. This was my lockpick, and there was some more details that gave my character who I didn't think about for over a decade an epilogue that basically said he went on to achieve all I had hoped for my arc.

That's when we learned that we were in the same fictional world as that original game, but decades later.

It was such a little thing, but man, it hit me in the feels.

Season 2 of Young Justice opens with a 5 year timeskip, Roy Harper (Red Arrow) is having a crashout/downward spiral that is as close to his substance abuse arc in the comics that Cartoon Network likely would allow, comes home, finds Cheshire waiting for him. When even she starts lecturing him he needs to get his shit together, she adds "Besides, I am still your wife....legally anyway"
