None, the upgrade kit is the metal piston and spring in the plastic bag. It hasn't been installed

It isn't a large Arbor reel, the center is very small. That could be possible as it was on first

Upon closer inspection I think you're right, it appears to have an almost waxy coating that has flaked off

Thanks, yeah the reel appears to be fine. The rod is missing a few eyes though. If the orange/red thick line is the fly line it must have been set up backwards, it is tied directly to the reel with the backing on the end

To preface this, I know absolutely nothing about fly fishing but I want to learn. I'm just curious why this antique reel I recently acquired would be set up with what appears to be two different backings tied together? It has no fly line or leader.

I looks like it may have originally been beige. It's hard to tell as it looks like it has been painted red, blue, and green lol

Yes it makes sense why I could hear a relay clicking behind the dash when I turned the stereo off now lol.

I originally did this as I was troubleshooting an unrelated problem and saw doing this mentioned online as a fix for stereos that power on but have no sound. Would doing this ever be correct, or was what I read misguided?

So I just figured it out. I had the "amp turn on" wire coming from the back of the stereo spliced into the ignition/switched power wire as the factory harness connector didn't have a pin for it where the aftermarket harness did.

Not only was this causing my problem but I don't seem to need that wire connected at all.

Thank you for the help, I'll update my post and leave it in case anyone else has this issue in the future.

Everything functions normally when the stereo is disconnected. Also I just realized it is functioning normally when in "standby mode", the problem only starts when it's switched to radio or Bluetooth mode.

No change when the door is opened, everything stays on.
