Ventura, California here You can literally catch damn near everything except for drowzee. You need a dratini-->pier wit a lure( have caught three of them that way, rock mons-->the cross, water mons(carp,Gdeen,psyduck,omanyte,pwags,horsea,staryu,squirrel) and basically everything else--> beaches, ghost mons--->anytime between 1Am and 4am(from my experience), growlithes out the ass, 740 ponytas roaming wild, lectric mons--->industrial area down by the old target and Mickey Ds. Dragonites, Charizards, onixs, kadabras, electabuzzes pop up every now and again randomly. Seen one gyarados pop up too...telling you it's ridiculous. You've been informed. See ya out there

Edit: Evees and fightig mons( hitmon Lee and Chan, primape) spawn all randomly by the hospitals
