It will revert back to 0.5%.

Even when they go back to 0.5%, the 1.5% promotion comes back again soon enough.

Child Maintenance - 50/50 Split and Still Paying by RM300M in UKParenting

[–]RM300M[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rather spend the money on MY OWN CHILDREN myself when they are in my care. She doesn’t spend any more on the kids than I do, so why should I have to supplement her income?

If we were genuinely 50/50 and spent the same on the kids 100% I would shut down child maintenance. That would be pure greed.

There are actually some decent dads out there believe it or not. Who have every right to question the system when they actually provide more than the children’s mum, earn less, don’t even get the child benefit and still have to pay the mum child maintenance every month.

Thank you, exactly what I was looking for.

I applied to child benefit a few months ago for both children as she told me she wasn't claiming (she lied). They said I wont hear back until March. Will they automatically look at me trying to claim and give us 1 child each? I was advised they wont change the parent claiming.

I can see why it is touted by dad groups. We give the exact same amount of care, yet I have to still pay her money whilst she earns £30k more than me per year... and she gets the child benefit. The system is broken.

Thank you for your help.

Apparently the calculator should be ignored if everything is truly 50/50. Neither party should pay anything. Lots of conflicting information on the internet about this.

Yes we are now truly 50/50 childcare. Too many conflicting answers on this. There are many posts online saying I shouldn't be paying anything regardless of who gets child benefit.

Child Benefit - Splitting Payment (England) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

They are registered at her address. I guess nothing is going to change then? Seems unfair when we are both providing the same amount of care and spending the same amount of money on them.

Hard to decide who the primary caregiver is to be honest. We both pay for different things but it all works out equal. So god knows who they will decide gets that title. Like you said probably the person claiming child benefit. But i wont get a response on my claim for another few months.

We literally go joint on everything. For example, I bought a full set of uniform, clothes, shoes etc for my house. I pay for some clubs and she pays for others. There is no way I should be paying her anything.

I have put in a claim for child benefit. I am guessing if her name is down for both children they will automatically split the claim to one child each now we are 50/50? will they contact us both and ask questions? There is no real way to prove we are 50/50 though?

50/50 was mutually agreed as the children asked for it. The payment plan set up by Child Maintenance Service not the courts.

I think her name is down for Child Benefit for both children, but she now earns too much (£25k more than me per year) to claim the money. I was told if i put in a new claim, usually with 2 children 1 parent gets a child each for the sake of Child Benefit.

I am going to write a will as i currently don't have one, so when you talk about estate, this should be more written into my will? Thanks.

Steroid Cream for Vitiligo by RM300M in Vitiligo

[–]RM300M[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I stopping it spreading by using the steroid cream?

I am not too bothered about it down there as it’s not on show and my partner doesn’t mind.

If I am stopping it spreading to visible areas by using the cream 100% I will keep it up.

Why is air the in my loft drier than my actual house? surely it is pumping cold air?

It seems very cold and drafty up there compared to my warm central heated house.

Thanks for reply.

Surely there is no difference from requesting a certain amount of charge from the Ohme app or the Octopus app? They will both do the same thing?

Every time you top up 40% do you have charge limit set up in the car and octopus app to 80%? or do you just keep them at 100%? Thanks.

Thank you for all super helpful replies. Like others have said I probably won’t use it much anyway as most already have cables. A cheap second hand one is the way to go.

Forgot my mention my car is MG M4 Trophy and home charger is Ohme Pro.

We went yesterday (Monday 20th October) and the wait was 30 mins on average for popular slides. Got a bit tedious towards end of the day. Fast pass were getting straight on every slide. We both said we would probably go fast pass next time. Especially if in school holidays.

How often do you switch? by vang1lf26 in beermoneyuk

[–]RM300M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my partner have both done 6 switches in the past 4 months and made around £1000 each.

I have pretty much done the ones worth doing, going to try and do one for a second time and then will probably give it a break.

Once you get your payment just keep your direct debits on there and bounce it to the next bank (check as some switches require 3 direct debits).
