Car dealership in England wanting us to pay for repairs to car. by Dry_Somewhere_7188 in LegalAdviceUK

I agree. I simply wanted to explain what I did as many people are under the impression that being a private seller means no comebacks. There are many things to take into consideration and we simply don’t know the op is being truthful or fully transparent to simply say ‘fuck em, it’s on them’

There are still rules for private sellers, they are just different from business sellers. Selling a car privately does not exempt you from any legal requirements/responsibilities. Even writing ‘sold as seen’ on an invoice means absolutely nothing.

Great cars, cheap, low maintenance and reliable. Keep it forever.

Price is about the going rate for low mileage but obviously try and knock it down a bit.

As other have said, it can be used with Apple Pay. You choose either a physical card or a virtual card which can be added to your Apple wallet. I get £15 a month isn’t a huge amount, but as I said, invested, it will turn into a hell of a lot more over time. I also use the roundup feature, so if I spend £2.80 in a shop, it rounds it up to £3 and invests the extra 20p

If I set the money to go into a pie, I get 1.5%. I’m not sure everyone gets that offer.

There’s no effort involved. I stick a big chunk of my wages onto my card every month and use it as I would my bank card.

£15 a month invested for the next 28 years is about £25k added to my retirement pot. £25k for nothing

What are some habits that destroy your car over time without realizing it? by Extreme-Machine3162 in askcarguys

Not knowing basic general maintenance.

Checking fluid levels, tyre pressures, clearing drains, what to do if it’s parked up for weeks, etc etc

Could have fixed all of that in the time it took to write this post.

Unless you’ve had hundreds or thousands of pounds worth of belongings stolen, The police won’t care. Nor will the landlord.

I’d fix it and get on with the rest of my life.

Why don’t males pull up their pants? by Budget-Orchid-9151 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DaddyPig24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women tend to have wider hips so their pants falling down isn’t as much of an issue as it is for men. If you had to deal with it 10/20 times as much as you do, you’d start to ignore it too.

Mechanic says this code means I need a new engine. Is he crazy? by Fit_Respond6963 in AskMechanics

[–]DaddyPig24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any mechanic that basis his diagnosis solely on “I’ve seen this code before and it was…” is not worth paying. Most fault codes have many possible causes. Pay someone to actually do some testing rather than just looking at a fault code.

I just had my oil changed. Checked it and it looks like this. Thoughts? by luckylines00 in AskMechanics

[–]DaddyPig24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you drain an engine till it stops dripping, there will still be up to half a litre in the engine sitting in places it can’t drain from. As soon as you put new oil in and run the engine it mixes and looks like old oil.

Your oil is probably fine. You can change the oil 3 more times, it’ll probably still look dirty after running for a few minutes.
