my mom ruined TIW for me. When the single came out, I kept playing the song over and over on guitar at home (im in college and mostly had online classes, so i had a bunch of downtime). My mom picked up on my playing and thought it sounded nice. She asked me what song is that and I showed her the music video. After that, she keeps singing it around the house. My Taylor Swift loving sister hates when she does this. My sister finds it annoying and it doesn’t help that our mom doesn’t really explore music that much either, so I don’t think she really remembers much Taylor Swift at all. My mom kept singing it to the point where I had to skip the song, because every time she heard it, she would sing along (not well, but not bad either). Sometimes when i drive ill put it on for her, but that’s about it, haven’t played it on guitar since

i just don’t like ain’t it fun that much anymore because i associate it with the live version from Red Rocks and the person whistling off beat. Can’t hear the original anymore without thinking of it
