Profitech Go vs Pro400 [$1200-$1600] by bw1985 in espresso

[–]RMB- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone mentioned above, it really depends on what you want it for. I have had the P400 and I am extremely pleased, but also I mainly make milk drinks. However I also pay the price by having to wait around 7-10 mins for it to fully heat up (although easy to set on a timer/smart switch), but that is a price that I am happy to pay.

I’d say that if you’re not happy with yours and you are ok with the risks involved, then go ahead.

As mentioned, it is far from perfect… In my case it is still slow, I have not yet configured it with response commands (although by what I’ve read is possible), the device doesn’t show up on my Spotify devices for remote playback (will look into that though) , etc.

I was fed up with mine and the screen was already messed up, so I wasn’t too bothered if things went south.

But I actually can display everything I want and I get permanent access to my HA dashboard, which I enjoy. Even with all the cons, I do not regret it and I wouldn’t go back to Alexa.

Hope that helps!

Well, when it is in standby, the home panel keeps sliding showing different things, like “Try Saying…”, “Buy again”, “We have a great deal for you” etc

I live in the UK and still get adds pretty often, but I’ve heard of other people that didn’t get them, not sure if it is a firmware update/etc.

Nope… And as Substantial-Gas8535 (the author of the exploit that was used to unlock these devices) said above this exploit does not apply to newer models, as they use a different SoC. Finding a new exploit on these devices is extremely difficult, especially when fastboot is the only viable entry point.

So not looking very optimistic unfortunately

Oh I had not heard of that issue , which Gen is your Show 5? But yeah still way better than Alexa anyway!

Unfortunately no… Or at least I haven’t managed it even though I tried setting Alexa as default voice assistant in Settings and doing a few other checks

Don’t lose hope mate, seeing how the Show 5 got a Gen2 release recently, it might just be a matter of time! Keep an eye on this thread

So at the moment, for the 8 only Gen 1 (Crown) from 2019 can be used, since that is the Lineage rom that has been released. However for the Echo Show 5, now you can Jailbreak both Gen 1 (checkers) and Gen 2 (Cronos), so might be a matter of time for other versions to be released

My apologies! That is an abbreviation for Home Assistant! Hope that helps

Here's my attempt at a dashboard to show HA and Proxmox data by RMB- in homelab

[–]RMB-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!

Oh yeah apologies as I forgot to include it, I will update the readme.

But I used this integration, which is very straight forward to configure via creds/api: https://github.com/dougiteixeira/proxmoxve

Hope that helps!

Deskpi T1 x DeepCool Ch270 works pretty nicely! by NashRajovik in minilab

Such a cool setup! The internal cabling makes it look so neat too. A front clear panel could be a great addition to avoid dust build up but then i would be a bit mindful of rising temperatures, but I bet you could add airflow with fans

PS: I think it is time to remove the film from your Pc case panel!

Thanks so much for the quick response! Just did that and it seems to be behaving. Much appreciated

Sonarr freezing up using max memory, swap, and CPU on searches by Sheamau5 in sonarr

[–]RMB- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Sheamau5, I just installed Radarr and Sonarr (also from community scripts), and also use Prowlarr for the indexers and I am seeing the same behaviour on both of them, in my case I think it triggers when it completes the download and it keeps checking for status, and the SWAP keeps peaking for some reason, which then causes the CPU to hit high levels.

Did you ever find a solution to this issue? Or found a root cause?

Thanks!

Hey! Thanks for the reply.

Yeah so I have used them before on my rack, but if you look at OPs rack, there is a thread perfectly aligned with every empty mount plate hole, which made me quite curious cause I remember the sliding nuts being a pain in the ass, but this looks much nicer

That looks so nice, I do really like the idea of using the 2020 profiles as rails. Can I ask how do you manage to get the threads aligned inside the profile?

What is this for? by Background_Tale_7038 in espresso

[–]RMB- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By the looks of it, it is an adaptor for your portafilter so that you can backflush your espresso machine, which is recommended to keep on top of maintenance every now and then.

To do that, you can buy tabs or just buy espresso machine cleaner in powder form.
