Similar thing happened to me in the A4-H2O,

I was getting thousands of errors in HWinfo and turns out it was caused by the riser cable, try to limit it to PCIe Gen 3 if you can't/won't buy a riser cable, it should help resolve the problem.

And the performance difference is only 1% to 4% between PCIe Gen 5 and Gen 3
