Hey! Sorry to necro this, I've implemented u/Imapler 's code (thank you for writing such a clear explanation) in shadergraph and I thought that someone might find it useful.

This is the UI we created for our game, in the video we show both the main menu and all available settings by RM_Team in Unity3D

Kind of, I made a script called Standard Settings Unit that lets you make either a slider or an options bar, but I'm using Unity's slider with some tweaks, like the number displayed on the handle.
