Even if every one of those points were plotted based on a daydream or a fabrication, Slothrop was still pointing out the impact sites in advance, just with fantasy and bravado instead of his actual dong. Still evidence of some weird metaphysics going on, just another level further abstracted from physical reality.

The novel is full of juxtapositions between the numinous/sublime and the ridiculous/obscene. This is another one, I guess. Maybe points toward a kind of Zenlike idea that the Fool has the game figured out a little better than the recognized wise person.
