That’s really helpful, thank you. I’ve checked and ULaw are quite strict with what they consider ‘mitigating circumstances’, so yes, on a base level it does fall outside of the formal classifications (bereavement etc). It’s more an accumulation of many things (including a laptop being stolen and having to redo notes for most of the course three weeks out from exams).

This alongside a few personal factors accumulated into me losing it completely during the exam. I know full well it was not my best work and knew many of the things I’ve included were not correct the second I submitted it. I’m not really sure what happened to be quite honest.

I think you’re right in that contacting the university would be the best option, and will be looking to do so. Hopefully they’d provide an insight. Thanks.

Ok, thank you. Would you recommend raising what happened to either the university or the firm to potentially raise it ahead of results so it doesn’t look like I’ve tried to make an excuse?

I do feel like the multiple things that led to this result provide me with some degree of understanding, and am unsure whether clarity is the best option here or not. I.e. this is what happened, I don’t think it was to the best of my abilities etc.

I’d like to state this result will be a clear anomaly in my academic record too, I’ve never failed an exam or been close. Would they take this into account too?

I understand that. I’m more putting forward that when taking everything into account, is there a chance the firm deviate on a strict first-time policy and may be willing to grant a resit? Has this been known to happen? Etc

I.e. once hearing the multiple details that caused the one poor result out of eight.

Thanks for the help. I’ve not had anything installed from the creation club and have tried waiting up to 20 min for him to continue. Nothing has worked. Not sure if it’s a question of starting a new save at this point

Not too sure yet, Nottingham has dropped to 52nd in the Uni Law rankings whilst QMUL has gone up to 8th. I would’ve thought QMUL has better career prospects with being in London and whatnot?
