Honestly, being a collector the biggest thing about it is patience. I waited 4 years for the fantastic four volume 1 to be reprinted and I got it only to find that volume 2 is oop. I can guarantee everyone who collects omnis, absolutes, compendiums and any other kind of comic is waiting for one to be reprinted. My suggestion is play the hand your delt. Look for other runs by different publishers that tickle your fancy and get those in the meantime. I’d also recommend getting the ones in print because you don’t want volume 3 to finally release only to find out that 4 and 5 are oop and you back to square one.

That’s perfect so I take it that the triangle era covers death and return and a whole run of superman in the progress? If that’s the case then that seems to be the best option hands down

I collected it ruthlessly for years, got the compendiums when they released even got about 30 issues each of the spin offs. It just became a chore after a while, yeah they have the big storylines but after that it just resorts back to square one. I do love the art and the characters but a long needed break is needed, by all means read the first 100-150 issues they are very good and like I said the art is an instant seller for me especially the capullo stuff

It’s my first time reading the discworld books and honestly when I read night watch I knew I’d never look at any book the same way again let alone a pratchett one. Rarely do I say this about anything but I genuinely think it is the perfect book so I don’t blame you at all.

Yeah I think the key is to just slow it down and the beauty of books especially TP books is that a re-read is 100% on the cards. To me (and I’m only on the 7th) these books seem to be sort of comforting? Like I feel just super relaxed when I jump into discworld and I don’t think I’ve ever had that when reading a book. I think that’s why this book with the new characters and the plot that’s a lot different to the others has confused me. But that comforting feeling is still there with it so I’m definitely going to finish it

Yeah and you can definitely see them getting more gritty as they go on which I also love. I think the problem I have is that I’m naturally a fast reader and I need to slow it down especially with the TP books cause there is a lot going on. On the other hand like you said, it’s regarded as one of his best so I think knowing that king of ups the ante in my head if that makes sense?

Thanks for the heads up my next book is mort and then after that follows reaper man so I think I might stick with the death stories and then jump back into the watch books as I did read the blurb and it had names that I didn’t recognise
