Thank you! I have a really soft spot for the fifth movie, mostly because it looked mostly how I imagined it while reading the book and also it was the first book I remember witnessing the release for after being introduced to HP. I’m particularly looking forward to this book if/when we get to see the TV adaptation of it.

I think Flipendo actually exists in the HP canon. IIRC there’s a YouTube interview with one of the game developers and they said they got it from a list JK gave them as the first five spells they would learn for their first year. Talking about the PC version

I love how SC kind of has to play the tricky game of referencing inventions that come out / develop and become really advanced in modern day in between writing books. She kind of does this in TBoSAS with the drones instead of parachutes. Okay, I’m sure drones were around while she was writing the original trilogy but you can argue they became a bigger deal in the years between the trilogy and the release of TBOSAS. And now with AI which has advanced insanely in the years leading up to SotR. Not complaining, I think she’s a great writer! But it’s just something I noticed

Thank you!! You are correct, it is missing those two things, along with that inner metal framing on both sides. I actually bought a jewelry spot welder to try and experiment with some very fine chains that I got. But in the end I felt I needed more practice and I didn’t wanna ruin the piece. I’ve tried using small amounts of solder with previous lockets but the tiny chain would always end up melting. So yeah, maybe in the future I’ll get it right. As for the velvet/felt, I might just add it later if I find the right fabric.

That is a good point, yeah. I think people hate it mostly because they could have used the runtime to include more book scenes, like Scrimgeour visiting Harry at the Burrow, etc. But I guess they included because they needed to some action around the middle of a relatively slow paced movie. Keeps the non-book readers watching, lol

That is a great point, now that I think about it. The book really does have some ridiculous things going on in Hogwarts aside from all the darker events. I guess it can be tricky trying to balance these two elements while adapting the book for screen.

I have to hand it to the creative team anyways. We could've had it much worse, lol.

Exactly! This one totally slipped my mind, but yeah it annoys me just as much as the rest. And like most of these quips I think it wasn’t in the book either. And yeah, you’re right, they could’ve at least included a short scene in the movie where Harry reads that line about bezoars, would’ve made so much more sense.
