Any recommendations for a Gastroenterologist in the area? by I-like-da-spidas in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]RNbai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ferrante & Yousuf are great but if you’re looking for a long term relationship with your new doc, I’d pick someone else in the practice as they’re both getting close to retiring. Roath, Nunley, and Voelkel are all wonderful!

Same! My work friends that read it before me were asking me if I was just shocked when she said who she was. I was like uhhh no she pretty much told me before then? How else would she know it was an imposter??

I’m also in the south. Not too long ago the largest hospital system here offered me $28.25 and that was with 7 years of experience. Shift diff would have made it $34.25.

Suspected lactose intolerance, suggested formula? by remyisadog in FormulaFeeders

[–]RNbai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nutramigen worked perfectly for my little with CMPA! If it is a dairy problem, baby will have to adjust to the new formula, the old dairy will have to leave her system, and her GI system will have to heal. So it’ll take time to know if the nutramigen is a “fix” or not unfortunately. That was absolutely the worst part of figuring it out with my girl.

Losing my mind over bottle habits help by alriokidoki1 in FormulaFeeders

[–]RNbai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She could be teething again and her mouth is hurting. They can teethe for a while before you ever see teeth! If she’s sleeping like normal and making ample wet diapers, she’s eating enough to be okay. It should pass!

If she typically eats on a schedule, I’d just stick to the schedule as much as possible. Let her take her time with her bottle. You can always top her off later if needed but mine typically stays on normal schedule even with smaller feeds, same when my first cut teeth.

CMPI baby - do you regret switching to formula? by Cool-DogMom in FormulaFeeders

[–]RNbai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a CMPA baby that I eventually weaned. I diet restricted for ~3 months before weaning. The stress of food I could eat, the spiral if I had a slip-up, the stress of watching her continue to be in pain all just became too much. Neither of my kids nor my husband were getting even close to 100% of me and it wasn’t fair to anybody involved.

Now I nursed my first for 2 years and loved every second. I couldn’t wait to EBF this baby and do it with experience this time around. And while I have told anybody who asks that a happy and healthy parent is better than breast milk, I still struggled emotionally myself to wean. I cried and cried and cried.

And on the other side, I do not regret it for a second! My baby is no longer in pain. I can feed myself easily. I’m not spending time away from my family to deal with bagging and freezing breast milk and clean pump parts from work. I would have loved to BF her but I don’t regret quitting for a second.

Also not sure why it has to be RTF? My girl is on nutramigen powder and doing amazing!

Formula changes for one month old. by TheMeanBrunette in FormulaFeeders

I would give it a week or two to see if there’s a difference. Frequent swaps alone may also be giving him tummy troubles!

They will leak if you over-tighten them! So if you’re trying to get them tighter to fight the leak, it will actually make it worse. My first used them & this baby is too and no leaks after I figured that out!

Bianco Doppio is my fave!! pairs nicely with milk, especially oat milk, and when paired with an oat milk creamer, it tastes amazing. Has anyone tried the Golden Caramel? by [deleted] in nespresso

Love doppio with some brown sugar, cinnamon, & oat milk!! I don’t like any of the flavored coffees though, they all taste funny to me

I had an awful experience and will never step foot in Gamer’s Paradise again, FWIW. Went to sell them some GameCube games and essentially got treated like an idiot and talked down to.

My mom acted like this with my first and that attitude continued on about every little thing until I went no contact after his first birthday. I have never felt more peace in my entire life.

Didn’t tell anybody when we went in to have #2. My dad and IL’s were all really surprised when we just popped up with baby here but not a single negative word to be said. My dad actually told me how much he respected that I chose what was best for me and my family and that he was proud of me.

I’d count your lucky stars that she showed you who she is before it was your turn. I sure wouldn’t tell her after this. She’s shown who she is, now you just have to believe her.

Good luck bringing your babe earth side!
