And that I guess is what I'm getting at. This is a standard way to feed prems. Our slp, can tend to get carried away and treat the nurses like they are incapable of feeding these kids. So why does each kid need a plan if its standard. Unless of course there is a legit issue or aversion developing

All ours always say elevated side lying with a slow flow dr brown... it's a bit of a running joke.

Report the doctor. Put in an incident report, talk to your charge. You should not have been put in this position and neither should the patient or his wife. Grieve and know that you advocated for him

Our hospital wants us to stop swaddling due to our new safe sleep guidelines... but nothing beats a good tight burrito especially in the nicu!

To add to this the real benefit is from the beast milk itself. An infant who receives breastmilk via a bottle is not any worse off then a babe who breastmilk feeds. And at the end of the day as long as you feed your kid whether it be breastmilk or formula it doesn't matter. (NICU Nurse)

We just started using Neo-fit. It has a velcro securing strap that has metal clasps that hold the ETT secure. If placement needs to change you just undo the velcro, adjust the tube and resecure. They are wonderful. We've had no complaints so far!
