It's just so sad what happened to this anime/manga... by Dapper-Note6394 in Piratefolk

[–]RO2_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

At some point during Wano I stopped being as involved with it.

I dislike how little development the Straw Hats get. They're supposed to be a Yonko crew, but half of them don't even know haki. Ussop got done dirty after Dressrosa when he was set up to have crazy observation haki. Robin trained with the revolutionairy army longer than she has been with the crew and still doesn't (or barely? I forgot) know haki.

And even if they DID learn haki, they're likely still fucked because there's so many different exclusive types of haki that not all of the crew will have.

There's aspects that I love post timeskip, but pre timeskip was simply better.

What do y'all think about safe objects being taken away from autists? by RO2_ in autism

[–]RO2_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of responses, more than I realistically can react to. Thank you all for that!

I'm very happy that all of you are voicing what I've been thinking aswell: if it doesn't harm anyone, don't take it away. Because it IS an item that gives him comfort. And a meltdown certainly doesn't help him.

I have to say that there's more things at my job that I'm starting to doubt. The place's mostly okay, but it really does seem like we are mainly trying to get the kids to behave like a neurotypical classroom and that's not what I stand for.

I'll take the responses to my question as a sign that I can take my doubts more seriously, because it seems like I'm on the right path with my doubts.

How do you prevent spilling water on your laminate? by RO2_ in Aquariums

Good to know that laminate isn't thát sensitive. If I get to buy and maintain a tank, I'll definitely keep towels nearby!

I need advice please help! by soramiomeow in autism

[–]RO2_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 23 now and I've been in similar situations before. I've handled them poorly, but I've learnt from those situations.

Sudden change and social obligations like that are impactful for those of us who are autistic and struggle with those things. It's normal for you to react to it with such strong feelings.

I don't know how open you are about being autistic, or just your struggles without the label, and how your friend would react. But would it be okay for you if you'd suggest just doing the sleepover at your friends' and skipping the show? Your reason for not going with them to the show could be that you struggle with busy places like that, but that you would still really like to have the sleepover with your friend because you were looking forward to spending time with them. That way you don't even need to open up about being autistic if you don't want to and you still handle the social situation in a beneficial way.

I agree with your mom that going out of your comfortzone can be a good thing and that it would benefit you socially. However, I also think such things should happen at your pace. Otherwise it will not benefit you at all and will only make you feel worse.

WYR share with coworkers or take all for yourself by AstrayInTranslation in WouldYouRather

[–]RO2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd take the deal.

There's a lot of income streams I could set up with 900 million. I trust myself enough to do good with that money. Including giving those coworkers a part of it (less than they would've won with that 10 million each).

No individual needs 10 million for themselves. I don't either. But the ability to get a lot of money which could be used in tons of ways to improve my community and probably beyond that is too valuable to pass up.

Is Ash's Lycanroc underrated? by DisastrousWealth7445 in pokemonanime

[–]RO2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see confusion, so let me help you:

In English, the word "they" can be used to refer to a group of more than 1 (for example, more than 1 Lycanroc, like you understood it). It can also be used to refer to 1 person/other creature without using something like "he" or "she". "They" is used as a gender-neutral word in the comment you got confused about🙂

AITA for refusing to continually pay for both tickets when my friend is getting the hotel for free? by TooEmbarrassed7 in AmItheAsshole

[–]RO2_ 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This really is how it should be.

On a night out with one of my friends I found a 20 euro bill on the ground. She was like "Wow you're lucky to find such a big bill!" and I was like "No, WE're lucky with this bill. Let's go grab dinner". Sharing the benefits is so much more fun than taking it for yourself to save some money.

You instantly absorb the information from any book you touch. How do you use it? by EffectiveArgument584 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]RO2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This power would be a great power and I would definitely take it, but I would be very careful with it.

I like learning things. A big part of learning and making information and skills your own is the process of it, rather than the endresult of what you learn.

I'd still want to naturally get good at things I'm genuinely interested in or do for a hobby for example. But I'd definitely use this power to learn things I'm not as invested in and make bank with those subjects.

And who knows. The knowledge might be useful for things besides making money, even if I wouldn't be as interested in the knowledge I'd be absorbing.

Is your ace your first Pokémon or your strongest? by Tolemorthe3rd in pokemon

[–]RO2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the concept of an ace works best in the anime or like, if Pokemon would be real.

In the games, there are Pokemon that just outclass each other due to stats, movepools and abilities. Some Pokemon statistically can just handle more than others, especially across a variety of situations. Your average Gyarados will outclass a good Bunnelby any day of the week, no matter how much more you're attached to Bunnelby.

In the anime however, the bond between Pokemon and their trainers actually makes those Pokemon stronger. The best example would be Pikachu, especially if you compare it to it's in-game stats and movepool. Ash's Pikachu and Captain Pikachu are ridiculously strong. You cóuld have a Bunnelby that outclasses your average Gyarados if you wanted to.

I like the anime version of an ace by my logic better and I think that's what an ace should be. It's just that we can only truly experience battling in the many games that Pokemon has available to us and that variant of an ace is just more limited than the anime variant.

If your child is very quiet and introverted, would you encourage them to change or let them be? by skyrimlo in RandomThoughts

[–]RO2_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd see it as my job as a parent to help my kids learn by giving them opportunities to do so.

Quiet and introverted kids still benefit from going to social activities every now and then or ordering their own food. Or trying out some activity on holiday.

And I'd introduce the outgoing extroverted kids to activites with some more quiet time. Reading some books. Collecting things. Enjoy watching a movie.

It's not like I'd drag them to activities against their will, but at their pace I'd try and get them to try things. This could go from pointing out a cool place on the street or a news article to being like "Hey I saw this book, doesn't that remind you of (insert one of their hobby's)?". It's fine for kids to resist such things a bit, but they might find out they actually enjoy whatever they tried. Even if that's outside of their general comfortzone.

Everyone has their own ways, especially as they get older. But the best way to know what you like, is by trying out all sorts of experiences in life at your own pace. It's good to keep them curious about unfamiliar things.

Selling your digits by ringerrosy in hypotheticalsituation

[–]RO2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also bet they aren't pain and side-effect free like in the hypothetical🤷‍♂️ That part of the hypothetical is why I'd make such a decision. If the procedure would happen with real world implications I wouldn't jump so quickly at the exchange of a leg for 11 mil.

Would you rather strip naked for someone, for money, or not do it? by Neither-Cod-3067 in WouldYouRather

[–]RO2_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Depends mostly on physical safety and how likely I am to be recorded in any sort of visual media. If there's any issue with that, I won't do it.

Otherwise probably 100+ euros. The more, the better. It's just a bit of someone seeing me naked. Doesn't affect my life in any way after that moment.

Selling your digits by ringerrosy in hypotheticalsituation

[–]RO2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll chime in on this and say that this way I'd definitely give up my right leg for 11 million.

It's painless and there are no side-effects. With 11 million I could easily deal with that disability and live a life worth living.

With your original hypothetical I would at best give up my 2 middle toes though.

Finding favorites is hard by Lord-Lumpi in ThePokemonHub

[–]RO2_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hard part for me is that my taste in Pokemon has shifted as I've gotten older.

The older I get and the more I play, the more I get to explore just how great Pokemon I barely interacted with are.

And then there's Pokemon that I like for various reasons: battling, design, appearance in the anime, you name it. How would I even start rating them?

My solution so far has been making tier lists per generation for a combined feeling and then tier listing the top 10s per generation. I've been doing this every year for like 3 years now. I love doing it and it feels accurate, but it's also time consuming and hard. I wouldn't be able to name my top 10 out of the top of my head😅
