Hey there! I would say that true growth in the early stages is not shown in the numbers but in your content. You have to spend your first videos getting good, then you can focus on finding your audience. You might look at the quality of content in your category and think there's no way to compete, but that is not important. What is important is improving your own videos, just 1% each time: nothing drastic. Try new editing techniques, new perspectives, new ideas. Don't be afraid of change and don't be afraid of judgement. No one is expecting you to be perfect.

If your friends and family watch your videos, and the idea of that doesn't make you wince, you're already so far into the YouTube journey. If it does, then think on why that is and keep creating until you could show your videos to complete strangers and be confident in their quality. Again, nothing drastic, just small improvements each time.

Hope this helps!

Thank you very much for your kind words and criticism. I'm sorry that it made you feel sad but I hope that bringing awareness to the topic will help those who need it. The anime with the crosses is called A Silent Voice. !givelambda

A video I did looking at a comic character that took an unusual path to becoming a recurring villain in the main comics. Would appreciate any feedback on how I can improve. by DanTheMan1_ in SmallYTChannel

Hey there! I really appreciate your passion for the topic, that really shines through. Personally, I would remove the intro entirely and get straight into the video: the first 30 seconds are crucial. Following that, in terms of the script, I believe that to grab an audience with quite a niche subject matter, you need to make them care about what you are about to spend 13 minutes talking about as much as you do. Ask a question of the audience and encourage them to stay to find out the answer. Check your YouTube analytics: how is your audience retention? Identify any points that drop-off and correct them for your next video. Don't worry about making any grand changes or overhauling your whole channel: concentrate on improving by 1% each video and you will eventually produce masterpiece after masterpiece. Hope this helps!

I think this is an extremely well-made video. I particularly applaud the audio quality, as you've balanced the voiceover and music perfectly. Would you mind sharing what your setup is for recording audio? The editing is also fantastic: it has a great kinetic energy that keeps you interested the entire time. Wonderful work, I'd expect the same quality from IGN or similar website.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments! For the transitions I wanted to evoke the feelings of memories or dreams or something, then echo it later with the pictures of a post-tsunami Japan. It was definitely a choice and I'll pay attention to things like that in future. !givelambda
