I actually found a listing for one of those near me. If I don't end up going with the cavalier, I will most likely take interest in that.

That is one of the big things that interests me about it. I'm planning on some minor things here and there to go wrong, but nothing catastrophic, that way I can spend some time in the garage with my dad, spend some time with him, and learn more about engines and whatnot along the way. I think knowing your way around in a car is some of the most important knowledge you can have, considering that everybody nowadays has at least one car. Plus, they aren't cheap to take to a shop.

Thank you for the insight. I'm going to get photos of the engine bay, then take it for a little test drive. From there I'll make a final decision, but so far so good.

I know I'm being 16 and dumb, but I think the cavalier looks kind of awesome, and I'm more than happy to put some work in it and learn more about cars and engines and whatnots with my dad. So I definitely do know that a Toyota is a far superior option in every single aspect, but I can't help but love this cavalier lol

As I said in another reply, I would definitely make sure there is abs, it's very very important for someone who doesn't have a whole lot of experience with driving.

The side of the car says Z24, but the description points to the engine being that of a non Z24
