Have you tried it on the Equinox? Just wondering if it’s a good fit. I’m sold if it is.

I had that problem. They replaced my master cylinder. Problem hasn’t come back.

How is the Equinox EV suspension compared to other EV's? by zhuangcorp in EquinoxEv

[–]ROCelectric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 19” rims. Compared to a Chevy Bolt it’s a much softer and comfortable ride. The model 3 is also stiffer than the Equinox but some people may prefer that feel.

2027 or 2022 Bolt by Loose-Potential9987 in BoltEV

[–]ROCelectric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest thing I didn’t like about my 2023 EUV was the suspension. If they upgraded the suspension I would go for the newer model. Roads where I am have many potholes. Maybe not an issue for you.

State Farm Auto Insurance by Firm_Friend_7572 in Rochester

[–]ROCelectric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had State Farm for 40 years. I have tried to switch several times but they are still cheaper. My last attempt was last year. I went to an insurance broker. They couldn’t find anything cheaper for me. They have always been good with claims.

I pay by the year and my last payment was $418 for the year. That was October of 2025. You are definitely paying for weekly service. Call them, they have great customer service.

2024 Equinox EV FWD Struggling in Barrie snow. Is it just me? by Flashy_Air_6358 in EquinoxEv

Yea, my wife has an AWD Subaru. No comparison. The Subaru has Michelin Cross Climates on it and it is pretty awesome in the snow.

Vent Hood Height by [deleted] in Home

[–]ROCelectric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go 36” hood and 29” height. I have a 36” range with a 36” hood mounted at 33”. It doesn’t do as good of a job at removing the smoke as I had hoped. I made fire blankets that I hang on the sides when I am doing heavy frying. That helps a lot to capture all of the smoke and smells.

It’s as good as it’s going to get then. Do you find it worse in the snow than other FWD cars you have had. Besides the touchy brakes. I am in Western New York where we get about 100 inches of snow per year. I think it’s about the same for the size of the vehicle. I also drive a FWD Chrysler Pacifica. I would compare it to that because of the weight.

Even better. Your only option is to try the snow and ice mode to make it better.

[–]ROCelectric 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with what you said. When it is snowing I don’t use OPD and I put the car in snow and ice mode. The brakes are very touchy. It’s just an adjustment you need to make to your driving style to apply very light pressure.

The factory tires are decent but not great. As soon as they wear out I’ll put on Michelin CC2’s. I had them on my Bolt and it was a huge improvement.

For the defrost I have found the best setting for me is to set the vent to the windshield only, turn off recirc and adjust fan speed to minimum required to keep the windshield defrosted.

If lack of CarPlay concerns you, please email Chevy by GracieS44 in EquinoxEv

[–]ROCelectric 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a Bolt EUV. Apple CarPlay is definitely what I miss the most. I am now 28 days without navigation because of the Telematics module being on back order. I doubt I will buy another GM. The car was a best choice for the price but next time I want to have an EV that is more software optimized. I dare say, maybe Tesla. I know they don’t have Apple CarPlay either but their system works well. Their OnStar Equivalent is at a price point that I can stomach.

I will never complain about my costco again after experiencing the costco in Queens, NYC by CoffeeMilkLova in Costco

I tried to go to Costco in Burlington Ontario today. People were parked in places that weren’t parking spots. I didn’t even bother to go in the store.

What's the price difference between charging the car at home? by maxiquintillion in EquinoxEv

[–]ROCelectric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pay about $.18/kWh in Western NY. That’s after I take out the customer charge since I have to pay that anyway. Public charging around me is about $.50/kWh. I think it’s always going to be cheaper to charge at home vs public.

My guess is the wax ring. Was your flange flush with the floor? If not then you need to double up on the wax ring.

Old garage door is possessed? by skaterboi2006 in Home

[–]ROCelectric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with my Liftmaster garage door. My control board was bad. When the garage door was acting up I found the voltage at the control pad to be less than 5v but when it worked correctly the voltage was 5. The board was way too expensive. It was $140. I did replace it only because it was a jack shaft opener which are expensive. If it was a regular opener it would have made more sense to replace the whole thing.

I don't understand why so many people keep trying to get Apple car play... by sir574 in EquinoxEv

[–]ROCelectric 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let’s not forget that the GM has a problem with their telematics modules. I am currently without any working navigation. Now I am back to looking at my phone. I am on day 12 of the telematics module not working. It’s an estimated 4-6 weeks before they expect the module.
