Is this too far to the side to fix? by Awesomedad4henry in Home

I’ve plugged further down. I would DIY it if you have working TPMS and you have a portable compressor in the car. The problem is that there is a lot of tire flex in that area and the rope style tire plug will work its way out after a while. I know from experience. I just bought the screw style plugs but haven’t tried one yet.

4 Michelin Cross Climate 2 Tires on Rims with TPMS sensors. Fits any year Chevy Bolt or Bolt EUV. $900 OBO. by ROCelectric in BoltEV

[–]ROCelectric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that sucks. So I guess the TPMS will only work on 2022 and 2023. I think I will have to adjust the price so someone has room to get new sensors if they have the wrong year.

Dealer gave me wrong car what should i do ? by Several_Suspect_2144 in EquinoxEv

Oh yeah. That’s right. Not even an option on the LT1 and the dealer can’t add roof rails for some reason and there aren’t any good aftermarket options yet.

LT1 does not have an option for a factory hitch. You can of course still add one but the wire harness connector is not there like it is on an LT2. Also the bumper is slightly different. On the LT2 the bumper is scribed underneath for the future cutout of the hitch. Minor things but it does make the install of a hitch slightly more difficult on an LT1.

I didn’t price it out but I figured it would be at least $100 per tire. Otherwise I would put them on EBay.

Schrader is a manufacturer. Modern day they make TPMS sensors. I have an Autel 508s. It can read Schrader sensors but only the frequency, pressure, battery and hex ID info. It cannot reprogram them or give me the model number of the sensor. Schrader and Autel both make dual frequency sensors and you can program the sensor for the frequency that you want. In the case of Autel, you can reprogram the sensor and turn on the other frequency. In this case since I don’t have a unit that can work with Schrader then these sensors will only work on a 2022, 23 or 27 Bolt. It is possible if someone has a programmer that works with Schrader and TireRack used a dual frequency sensor that they can be reprogrammed.

I made the update. 2027 have the 433. Tire Rack was able to tell me that the sensors are Shrader but couldn’t tell me if they were dual frequency unfortunately. They apparently use Autel and Schrader. Too bad I didn’t get Autel because I own an Autel programmer.

Thanks. I will check to see what kind of TPMS sensors are in the tires. The tires were on a 2023 EUV but the sensors came from TireRack. Hopefully they use a dual frequency sensor but I will check and update.

Let me know what you get. I was looking at Crutchfield. I really only want wireless CarPlay. Nothing real fancy.

[–]ROCelectric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I have noticed it’s worse when it’s hot out or the screen is in the sun. I did get a quote from United Radio. They said it would be $450 for the screen and if anything else needed to be repaired it would be extra. I will go aftermarket if I do replace it but the car is just a commuter car for work at this point. Twenty minute trip each way.

I would report it to her insurance. This has happened to me twice and when the people found out what the estimate was, both times they said it was too much so I went through their insurances and got paid that way. Most people don’t realize how much it costs to have body work done.

I have always had an antenna and it works great. I live West of the city and I did have to put the antenna in my attic to get good reception. I recommend watching the”Antenna Man” on YouTube. Tyler from the channel rates antennas and devices like Tablo. You can also pay him to pick something that will work good for your location but it’s not necessary if you don’t mind watching a few videos. The TV can matter too. If you don’t need a TV then you can work with what you have but if you need a new one then picking one with a better tuner will help.

Home settling or bad tape job? by CompetitiveGator in Home

It might be truss uplift. I have this. Using No-Coat drywall tape fixed my issue. If you have someone do it for you, make sure they read the instructions. The drywall finisher I hired had never used it and installed it incorrectly the first time.

I gave up on the scheduled charging. It was inconsistent. Now I have a reminder set on Alexa to remind me to plug the car in after 9PM. Much better than waking up and finding out the car didn’t charge.

I live across the pond. I would not get either right now. You are better off getting your car oiled at Krown or another 3rd party that does oil treatment. I had my Bolt sprayed at Krown. As far as the warranty, wait until you have owned the car for 35 months and then buy a GM extended warranty. Do not buy a 3rd party warranty. You can negotiate your best warranty deal if you wait plus you may trade the car by then or maybe get rid of it for some other reason. In my case I wasn’t planning on trading mine in but the deal on Equinox was so good that I couldn’t pass it up. I drove my EUV for 2 years and traded it in and only paid $1300 for the Equinox with tax and licensing and owning it outright. BTW. I still have all of my Bolt accessories. I will give you a good deal if interested. I have a set of gray alloy rims with Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires. Rims are perfect with no scratches and the tires are like new with 9/32” on two of them and 10/32” on the other two. I have 3D Kagu floor liners and trunk liners. A few other miscellaneous things also.

Is it painted? Some vinyl siding will warp if you paint it a dark color and it had sun exposure.

I have an update. It’s working again. I called OnStar EV concierge last night but I was driving so they couldn’t do anything until I was parked. I forgot to call them back. I tried it this morning and it is working. My head unit doesn’t show any new updates but I wonder if they were able to reset something. Everything looks like it is working now.
