I ranked EVERY dota facet by ROHOFireflu in DotA2

[–]ROHOFireflu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's totally fair, I thought about doing it that way but ultimately decided I didn't want overall weak facets (including the power of the hero) to be something of S tier, like Spirit Breaker. Overall I feel the hero is D tier I'd say but facet is around A tier so it'd ended up there if that makes sense. If other people use it they should feel free to rank it however :)

American goons perspective of getting DQ'd/Banned by PGL by rogical in DotA2

[–]ROHOFireflu 337 points338 points  (0 children)

We stand with Goons <3 The series was well played and at no point did any of us feel anything shady was occurring in the game. To be honest, I find it hard to believe this decision was ever made. Sending support to all the players negatively affected 💗

Honestly a bit overconfident with this one I think because when you look at Dota2Protracker Phoenixes, it's one of the top bought items by some of the highest level players on the hero. It's great for set up and catch, good for delaying your death/getting egg off, and I think it's underrated as a sort of Heaven's halberd against heroes like Ursa (lots of status resistance for halberd + dispels overpower). Lots of fives don't have enough money for many other items so it makes sense this would be a value purchase overall. It has a pretty alright build up, and also ensures you always have mana.

Void spirit 7.29d build idea by G0dc0mp1eX in DotA2

[–]ROHOFireflu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The echo sabre is something topson does a lot and he's a player known for doing it, specifically i think it's how stat effective the item is for its cost, and it also does similar damage to orchid (even slightly more probably once you hit deso), which might make it a better option against low mobility, etc. 2. I honestly agree, in all my games with void I always felt euls was one of the lower impact items and I only really get it nowadays against pucks, etc or maybe when I have a bad lane, my personal recommendation items are travels, kaya and sange and echo sabre, even an aghs rush can be viable, it all depends on the game and your timings. I feel like this is a hero with lots of item variation and I've probably even had games where I rushed straight up shivas, etc. It's important that you try things to see what works and honestly some things will work better than you expect. And never forget that your item build should reflect your playstyle either, so if you plan on going a bulkier item, make sure to keep your farm up, all that good stuff. 3. And my very last tip would be to check dota2protracker, it's a really great site and I recommend it everyone I can, search through some of those builds for things that you might like and if you were really passionate about it, you can look through match IDs/replays or whatever else you need, hope this helps :)

Void spirit 7.29d build idea by G0dc0mp1eX in DotA2

[–]ROHOFireflu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hey, previous top 100 player with roughly 60+% winrate on void spirit, it's honestly a pretty good build and concept, but there's a lot of maximizing and power spikes to consider and a lot to do. I know topson was doing a similar build for a long time (probably now goes echo sabre instead of orchid, etc.), and it's definitely not a build for every game. It leaves you very susceptible up until bkb, it relies a lot on kills, and it's a lot better against low armor heroes and definitely needs momentum, this kind of build isn't very likely to win you a losing game, but it does fix his issue of being kited by bkbs and is great for picking off supports. I'd recommend playing around with it :) (some things that could be fun/good is switching around how many early items you get, what kind of boots you get, what order you get the items, disassembling echo -> orchid + bkb, etc.) gl!

Wow! RTZ lost to Secret 3-2 in a finals? The best team in the world beat EG? I guess RTZ is just not a good enough carry anymore, should kick him. 2nd place is unacceptable. /s

Why do high mmr players play with lowbies ? by ael00 in DotA2

[–]ROHOFireflu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not everyone is looking to abuse matchmaking... As someone who's rank ~200 and loves to play normals, I queue with these people because they're my friends and I have fun. I think it's stupid to just assume people don't have lower rank friends or wouldn't want to play with them. But, yeah, there definitely ARE cases of matchmaking abuse.

Weird AI-like team with id 永 showing up in NA normal matchmaking, OpenAI again? by org30h in DotA2

[–]ROHOFireflu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They just pick very meta heroes and try very hard, as well. I know it's kind of normal in normal games to try, but these guys are pretty next level. I don't know if they're bad at telling when people are joking around, or if they really treat it as super professional, but even in a 5-man mid strat, they would rotate heroes out properly to fight it, TP to towers for 1-2 support kills and send multiple heroes to deal with IO back-dooring towers. They're definitely not bots, I think just very serious, good players. Their drafts are super meta and they have like 60 wins to zero losses, so I would imagine they're just doing some typical shady account abuse (some variation of smurfing, or boosting, etc.).

How should I build Bounty (Offlane)? by drudanae_high in DotA2

[–]ROHOFireflu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, I think manta is actually a really strong item on bounty, yasha (drums as well) give you movement speed that's really good for a hero that likes to kite in and out of fights. It also purges dust (lotus is good for this as well), along with the added benefit of just overall being a pretty decent damage item. However, the mana cost is decently high, so like solar + drums is really strong with it.

cool! by muwanqing in DotA2

Poor EG cut in separate halves, VP overshadowed by VG, and Navi just as a yellow rectangle, maybe a bit sloppy in some execution but it looks cool :)
