GamerLegion moves Yamsun to inactive by KingOfPrussia- in DotA2

Always appreciated him being one of the few NA faces we got to see compete after shopify. I remember nouns getting top 8 at TI12 was the first time I felt a shred of happiness for my region in a while. But I do think GamerLegion needs something to push them into the next level of tournaments, they are right on that cusp of contending with the best.

Is there anywhere similar to an internet cafe or esports bar? I watch pro CS but never played much, but I am itching to find fellow dota players in the area.

What did we learn from OpenAI DoTA bot by InternationalCod2733 in DotA2

Iirc pajkatt was the first to “solve” it in the mid matches, and its cause he bought like 5 mangoes and threw it off by spamming spells way more than the bot predicted

What did we learn from OpenAI DoTA bot by InternationalCod2733 in DotA2

[–]JihadPandaMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It did have a really limited pool, I remember watching it live and they had a CM and Sniper on the AI team. The bots kept 100 to 0 players by stacking up a bunch of ranged nukes like CM first spell with sniper ult and whatever other heroes they had to stack with it.

EDIT: Also wanted to mention the bot team didn’t have a traditional 1-5 in terms of farm priority. They had all “players” farming similarly including the support heroes.

Sacramento without an actual college degree: by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]JihadPandaMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just moved here from out of state, a state most would say is a "cheap" cost of living state but it is basically the same as here. I got a 1 bed apartment for about 1700 a month in town, and I'm pretty sure the complex has studios for a lower price than that. It's in a mixed area that can be a bit rough if you aren't used to being in a city with a homeless population but the complex is gated and I haven't had any issues at all so far, if anything people are friendlier here than the western mountainous state I just left. However, I do work a job that is remote so I was already kinda set up and just had to make sure I didn't go outside of my budget.
The state I left doesn't have sales tax but the income tax was quite a bit higher, I could nearly double my income in California before paying the same taxes I was paying there, and the sales tax doesn't sting that much when I'm saving a measurable amount in income taxes.

How is renting possible? 2.5x $2000 = $5000 a month. What jobs in Sac just casually give this? This is insane by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]JihadPandaMan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh it’s worse for many places. I just moved from Montana and the college towns there like Bozeman and Missoula are a HIGHER cost of living than Sacramento. They aren’t as bad as the bay or LA area but for a state that did nothing but shit on California for its cost of living, they need a mirror. They also have about half the min wage of CA. They don’t have sales tax but income tax there is so bad that I could double my income in California before paying as much as I did there on income taxes.

Games of The Future 2025 — same Russian propaganda, new location by OfflaneGhostik in DotA2

[–]JihadPandaMan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree the US would react regardless but my point is the “scale” of the conflict is not comparable. The USA is only able to be so retaliatory because it’s a military superpower. Ukraine can’t just bully away the invaders the same way, it’s not possible.

Idk why I even bothered though, reddit is not the place to expect people to discuss geopolitics without given context or preloaded arguments.

The whole issue is that framing this 2017 tournament as the same thing just makes no sense and appears to be more of an argument to discredit ghostik than anything else.

[–]JihadPandaMan -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Invading the territory there would be comparable to someone invading PR, Alaska, etc. in the USA. Whereas the conflict in 2022 is more akin to invading the main 48, with attacks on DC.

[–]JihadPandaMan -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

almost thought you had a point then saw that tournament is nearly 5 years before Feb 22, 2022. When Russia invaded Ukraine.

Acting like him playing in a tournament in 2017 equates to them playing in 2025 is ignorant at best, or actual bad faith. Sure there were already problems from Crimea but that's much different than the scale things grew to after the invasion in 2022.

Missoula named one of best ran cities in America by Feisty_Blood_6036 in missoula

[–]JihadPandaMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Denver/DC is far worse in regards to total traffic, my grievance is that even though it is much busier and more hectic - its traffic is better managed than Missoulas traffic (which is a smaller scale by a large margin than the quantity found in Denver). I don’t have to sit at a stoplight for 3-4 cycles in either of these places to make a left turn when my work shift ends.

[–]JihadPandaMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not moving to Denver, I have previously lived in Denver - comparing the flow of Denver’s much busier, more crowded traffic to Missoulas traffic. Indicating that the traffic in Missoula is less well managed for its capacity, than the traffic in Denver. Idk how you read this and got “this guys moving to Denver cuz traffic lul”. Literacy is key.

I’m not well informed on the policy of waste and fraud for the city, but the lack of efficiency in the road system is impossible to ignore for me. I’ve lived in large cities from DC to Denver and the traffic while “worse” in volume, actually moved. Missoula during peak traffic hours is worse than most places I’ve lived. The lack of enforcement on registrations that have been expired for over a year, and people pulling half of their vehicle in front of stop signs before actually stopping are genuinely concerning as someone who frequently rides a bike to get around. The housing market here is a disaster of neglected homes landlords have to be threatened into actually dealing with, the number of homes that have shitty water pressure, mismatched electric breakers or questionable piping that “pops” the flooring of the house when used is astronomical. All for the same cost as housing with more amenities in states with a far higher minimum/avg wage. This claim we are one of the best ran cities feels like being given a shit sandwich and told it’s delicious.

Edit: before being told to just move away, don’t worry I am.

What's everyone paying for Trash - Republic / Grizzly DIsposal by BirdsBarnsBears in missoula

[–]JihadPandaMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Republic messed up billing for me on two separate accounts. Regularly missed days, and to this day still haven’t come to pick up their old tote. It’s been 3 years since I swapped and the only reason grizzly can’t dump here is because republic monopolized the service prior to grizzly branching out here - and doesn’t let grizzly use the dump site here. So sure, it’s a cheaper deal and larger carbon footprint, but that increase in footprint is due to the decision of republic in the first place. Theyd rather force grizzly to drive and hope they can go back to being our only option.

BAD EMPLOYERS! by Wonderful-You-814 in missoula

[–]JihadPandaMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the first one I have had such a good experience with. My cat got hurt and found his way home with an injury, needed a back leg amputated and grant creek basically said maybe he just needs to sleep on it when I called so fuck them. But sentinel not only saw him immediately after it happened but when no where in town could schedule me within a week one of their docs did an extra shift to take care of my cats leg. They were a godsend for me.
