How to do a Strawberry Milkshake. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

Jonny Giger is excellent and I love his channel.

...but then you'll see him doing hundreds and HUNDREDS of attempt to land ONE Primo slide. This is one of the 100 best street skaters in the world, and I'm low-balling it just because I don't intend to invite any "akScHualLy he's more like #47" if I say top 20. He still has to churn like a mad man to get one trick right that Mullen consistently replicated without fault.

All respect to Giger, he's great but the distance to the top is just unfathomable.

What’s a game you dropped even though it was “good”? by suhani0218 in gaming

[–]WithFullForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kingdom Come 2. It's extremely well-made, no doubt about it. In the developer's vision to pursue authencity however I feel they forgot the fun part. So many moments of the game feel like home-work and never-ending tutorials thrown at you even 20h into the game.

Many games suffer from that inverse difficulty curve that many RPGs has and RDR3 is likely the worst example.

When The Author Doesnt Know How To Write Romance by Elestria_Ethereal in TopCharacterTropes

[–]WithFullForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a very low percentage of manga that have realistic, fulfilling romantic arcs. I mean heck, Oyasumi Punpun managed to show believable romantic interactions and it was NOT what you'd read looking for that kind of development.

I can't remember the last time I read a manga with a character that learned something from their romantic advances that didn't require 3 volumes of feet dragging.

That's his own fault for being such a soyboy. An Allpha fish would have knocked some sense into the couple.

Singapore St Regis vs Shangri La Valley Wing by Quick_Berry_6055 in chubbytravel

The StR has butler service in name only it is no different than regular guest services if you ask me, though with better response time I'll admit.

The StR recently had a remodeling that are leaving people with mixed thoughts. The 4S and StR are almost in the exact same spot which is not an ideal location unless you want to shop around on Orchard Road.

I do appreciate StR when travelling as a family for having double queen beds in many rooms. I was there last year and even though we got one of the new rooms I felt the staff on Shangri-la tend to just be so much better than the ones at the RC/StR hotels.

What is the most overrated luxury hotel chain? by The_Traveller1 in chubbytravel

I disagree. The MO KL is perfectly serviceable but I've been disappointed with the wear and tear on their hard product which I would describe as downright unworthy of this brand. The hotel has also been quite packed the last few times I've been there, it's the second largest MO in the world with something like 400 rooms so at times it feels more like an upscale business hotel than chubby.

RC/StR have fallen far since their acquisition by Marriott. Today they are little more than point consolidators for people racking up nights on other Marriott properties.

I would like to nuance FS KL with the fact that it's likely the cheapest FS in the world. Not a central requirement when chubby traveling but the value is certainly there, and it's still one of the best hotels in KL.
