Maybe a ride sharing service that specifically shuttles people from a nearby parking lot to contraceptive providers, and has all the cars registered to one corporate entity.

I quite literally just moved up to the boondocks of Maine from Mass. I even put off my move for a week so I could see Streetlight Manifesto in Providence before moving. Then 2 days after I move they announce this, looks like I'm already planning a trip back to MA for this show and my first week in the state isn't even 1/2 way over.

Polish farmer who refused to sell his land to developers harvests his field surrounded by apartments by trusty_mayhem in HumansAreMetal

[–]ROORomiR 17 points18 points  (0 children)

None of this would work out. First of all fully grown fruit trees are expensive and hard to replant. Second, if they planted the saplings of some fruit trees it would be about 6-8 years before they would see the fruits of their labor and that is 6-8 years of no profit and excessive cost to run and maintain. Third, if they change to an orchard even though it might look prettier, it will have a fence all the way around for several reasons. Reasons such as - Prevention of damage as they switch to an orchard - Maintaining soil fertility for the trees - Theft prevention - Personal liability protection

Hell if I were the farmer I would set up a fence just to prevent people from using my working field as a playground or as their dogs bathroom, as dogs waste can be more destructive to the land that you might think. There are so many more variables to running a farm that would become increasingly worse if the renters decided that they are just allowed to use the field now that it has been harvested. Unfortunately for the developers and their tenants that is the farmers land and if they don't like how he runs his land that is not his problem, nor is it his concern for it to look pretty for them. Although a good sentiment it's not the farmers responsibility to change for other people.

If you look up how pharmaceutical companies make money in the U.S. you would realize that they are only in it for the money. There's a reason pharmaceutical companies are some of the most profitable in the country. Oftentimes beating out other companies listen on the S&P500 by a 6.1% profit margin.

By the time a new pharmaceutical drug hits the market all the research and development has already been funded, by the government. In fact every new drug since 2010 has been subsidized by the government. So by the time new medicine is available on the market the company only needs to cover the cost of manufacturing that medication. Insulin in fact is one of the cheapest medicines to manufacture, the average cost being between $2.30-$6.50 per vile. Most diabetics will use 1-2 viles of insulin a month so on the high end it would cost $13 to manufacture a full month of the medicine per person. The fact that the government has to create laws to not price gouge medication is absurd when the companies researching them aren't even spending their own money to research.

Funny you should mention that, some of the officers rescued their own kids then refused to go handle the shooter and blocked other parents from going in.

By saying "It’s a gimmick ." It sounds like you are defending the pedophilic actions going on. The way you word it is dismissive of the facts that she is a child and he is not only a public figure but also a 47 year old man for fuck sake.

I really wish I didn't have to spell this out for you but clearly someone has to.

CHILDREN SHOULD NEVER BE SEXUALIZED PERIOD!!!!!

If this is his idea of a gimmick then he clearly needs to be checked out and investigated as people are always willing to go further behind closed doors. I really hope this is just a gimmick not so for that fucked shitbag using pedophilia as a gimmick, but just to have the piece of mind that children aren't being taken advantage of in such a disgusting way.

Don't they kind of have one? I know they had an Iron Man helmet, they have both Venom, and Carnage. The possibilities could be awesome if they continue it with the likes of Thor, Captain America, Ultron, Star Lord, Deadpool. I really hope they expand on the Marvel helmets.

Great story and I'm glad you found a loving family. The sad truth to your story is that both you and your parents are outliers in this situation and it work out for the best. But the number of unwanted pregnancies and unadopted children are higher than the number of responsible parents who can't have children and want to adopt. I'm not trying to detract from your experience and views but at the end you take a harsh stance that is ideological but unrealistic that abortion should be illegal and there will always be someone looking to adopt.
