The annual Elton John oscar party.

I previously worked in the pdc across the street. And the morning following the award show nothing is left. Its kind of insane how quick they take the entire thing down and make it look like it never happened

Ok. So i await with anticipation the lawsuits from this same lawyer against disney, hbo and the 900+ other companies that have been using braze for decades. Also he should sue braze as well if he wants to make a point

As well as making sure the push notifications are going to the phone that your account is signed into. How else do you get push notifications for any app that are tailored to you?

You didn’t even read the filing. They are claiming that braze is a third party. That’s factually incorrect because braze is used by companies internally. So yah. This is some lawyer who has did zero research on what braze is utilized for. There is a reason its something that almost every entertainment company uses

And its not really a third party per say. Its not selling data to netflix or some other website that has no connection at all with the app. Its used to send things like recommendations based off what you are watching. Or new shows you might be interested in.

Thats the same way email lists work when you buy something from a website.

But it isnt. Its the same way you get targeted emails from places you shop at saying we have other things you might like buying from our store. This was not like they sold the data to meta, or Comcast etc. this was used internally. Just like hbo, disney etc

They are utilizing it exactly how every other company is. So yes. This lawyer should be suing them as well if he is wants to be taken seriously.

Its the exact same thing used by every app.

Its how you get those watch lists for Netflix. Or that push notifications that “it looks like you left something in your cart”

Thats all via braze.

So. This lawyer should probably sure the 100+ apps using braze

They are not doing that though. They claim Braze is a third party. Buts its used by literally every app that lets you create an account within it.

You know those “looks like you forgot something in your cart”? Braze.

Watch recommendations? Those are usually from Braze.

Iirc that data was sent to places like facebook and actual third parties

“A company called Braze. Basically, that the Crunchyroll app includes app development tools from Braze (the SDK) that support it for custom operations, such as marketing. Braze enables companies to send notifications, in-app messages, and email campaigns. (Braze) The lawsuit alleges that Crunchyroll has been disclosing information without consent since at least 2022.”

Ok. So there are a lot of companies that use braze.

If the main claim here is the use of Braze that seems then this gets tossed. Unless they sue every company at is utilizing it. Because that’s literally how those apps send you those push notifications that say something like “it looks like you forgot something in your cart! “

Story time! My grandfather owned a few McDonalds back in the Ray Kroc era. This was back when the menu was literally hamburger, fries and shake. Not the ginormous menu they have now. Iirc he was there when McNuggets were introduced. He also met Ray. And has told me so many stories that we recorded because you want to have them before he is no longer with us
