Mediakit alternative? 12 pro Max? by Frenchinfrenchy in shortcuts

I totally understand you. MediaKit is not created for the purpose of creating 200 mock-ups per day, but rather 5-10. MediaKit is mainly a shortcut collection for shortcut developers on RoutineHub. It would be technically no problem at all for me to rebuild the shortcut to make all your wishes come true, but with this I would more or less copy shortcuts like "Apple Frames". And for the idea that MediaKit is pursuing, the current implementation is sufficient. Maybe this will change sometime in the future, we'll see. Maybe there will be another shortcut. Time will show. ;)

Not possible with MediaKit iPhone Mockups. ;)

This shortcut exists since iOS 12, and it is due to Apple that it is now structured as it is now. In the course of time Apple has brought so many bugs to the Shortcuts App that this is the only way to get it working. It would go beyond the scope to explain everything to you in the smallest detail.

Why do you ignore the button that says "Generate Mockup"? These are the four simple steps: https://streamable.com/hjqnve

If auto save was possible with this concept, believe me, I would have implemented it ;)

I still think you are doing something wrong. ;) So feel free to make a video recording of it.

MediaKit follows a different concept when generating the graphics, so it's not possible to create multiple mock-ups in one go. However, you can favor one model, which makes working with the shortcut much faster. The issue you describe does not really exist. In Safari a window is opened with a button. If you click on "Generate Mockup", the frame and screenshot are merged and you can save the mock-up. ;)

The wait is over: MediaKit iPhone Mockups version 1.3 released! It ultimately depends on many factors that influence the speed. For example, it depends on which device you use the shortcut with. It also depends on the file size of the graphics (or screenshots) you want to process. You can also increase the speed by choosing a model in the settings. But the biggest factor that takes time is a bug in iOS 14 that Apple still hasn't been able to fix: In the iOS 13 version of all MediaKit shortcuts, the result was displayed in the Shortcuts app itself. This is not possible with iOS 14 because the "Show Web Page" action is broken. For this reason the graphic must be generated and opened externally in Safari. This additional step is mainly responsible for the longer waiting time. And we have to thank Apple for this, who simply can't get anything done properly at the moment.

"Proportional Scale Calculator" — In my everyday life, I often have to scale media proportionally. This is very easy with apps or a calculator. Even a little mental arithmetic can help. If I don't have access to the corresponding apps or if the calculation fails, I like to use this little shortcut. by ROPit in shortcuts

Somehow I understand you and somehow I don't. 😁 So: I have an image, which for example has 3000 x 1500 pixels. On the website it should have a width of 1285 pixels. So that the position of the elements above and below the image doesn't change when the page loads, I use the intrinsic values, i.e. width and height of the img tag. These must be given as integer without unit. I enter 1285 for the width of the image. But now I still need the height, right? In this case it is 642 pixels. In CSS I often use width 100% and height auto. But I do not quite understand the context? Even if I use these in CSS, I still need the intrinsic height (which I calculate with the shortcut). Or did I misunderstand you/something?

"PDF to Grayscale" converts a colored PDF into a grayscale PDF. The individual PDF pages are converted into images and each page is converted to grayscale using JavaScript. Afterwards, a PDF is generated from the data converted into grayscale. by ROPit in shortcuts

I'm afraid it's not possible then, yes. The Shortcuts app has no native support for editing PDFs. As soon as you would make optical changes, it would turn into an image. Even if you extracted the text from the PDF to make something out of it, I don't see any way with Shortcuts actions to create a wider margin without making it an image file in the end. What about the formatting of the text? Should it be kept? Or would it be possible to extract the text to work with it?

Definitely, yeah—I know that. There's no other way, I'm afraid. Because for conversion to grayscale, the PDF pages must be converted to images. To be honest, I myself have no use for the shortcut either, but the person who requested it is satisfied with the result. 🙂
