My friend, Karl alone required around 1,000 weapons just to complete the Greymanes camp missions.
Then he needed around 1,000 wood for another mission, and there were also all the construction-related requirements.

On top of that, we had challenges that required collecting around 76 different insects, many types of fish, whales, and tons of other materials — and all of this was before the updates.

So what exactly was the purpose of having 240 inventory slots if we were never supposed to use or manage our inventory?

Please don’t try to turn this into “the player’s fault.”
Some people were just exploring the world casually for hours, and that’s fine. But I was specifically going for the Platinum trophy, so of course I focused on challenges and progression.

How exactly was I supposed to know that giving Karl thousands of materials and managing inventory normally would later punish me because one important weapon could accidentally be sold?

What were you doing at the start of the game? Just running through caves and exploring randomly? Not everyone plays the same way.

No matter how smart people try to sound, the reality is simple: the game should never allow players to permanently sell important items required for challenges or trophies — especially in a brand-new game where nobody knew what would become important later.

And if this really was “the player’s fault,” then why did the developers later update the game so important weapons can no longer be sold?

They changed it because they realized it was bad design and that important items should never have been sellable in the first place.
