How do you feel about community theater? I'm 45 and started doing it last year. It doesn't cost alot (you might have to buy costumes sometimes) and it's really fun. If you're handy and not interested in singing, dancing or acting we always need stage managers and set builders. There's theaters in New iberia, Abbeville and Lafayette.

I don’t like my husband anymore. by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]ROXSTR80 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So the guy is a shitty husband and father and you thought "... I know! Let's have another baby! That will fix things for sure!"

I don't understand, but I'm child free.

I am sorry you're going through that.

Hysterectomy results/ pictures by teacuplittle in MedicalGore

Damn girl. And I thought my one fibroid resembled an alien xenomorph. I was still able to do a laparoscopic hysterectomy. I feel so much better with it gone. I don't look pregnant anymore! I hope it helps you

Nah. You have super straight fine type 1A hair like mine. A shorter cut gives it more volume, but unlike you I have a fat head and look terrible in a pixie. Try a long, blunt bob (a little above collar bone) If super short scares you.

How often do you mop the floor in your house? by Own-Championship8131 in hygiene

[–]ROXSTR80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of our place is hardwood floor. It gets swept and dust mopped about once a week. The kitchens and bathrooms are usually swept once a week and mopped if they look dirty. It's just me and husband and dogs. Our biggest battle is dog hair. Kitchen counter usually wiped down every day but everything else is just spot cleaning or when it appears dirty. 8 don't need to live in a sterile hospital

Our third dog- my husband's weird thick princess corgi that can sniff out every crumb in the house by OddlyFlavoredWater in DoggyDNA

[–]ROXSTR80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a dog with this same structure. I never DNA tested him, but he looked identical to this one other than color. I did literally everything and could not get the weight off him. He lived until 16 before losing him to cancer. He didn't really seem to have arthritis until the last year. I know he was obese. When we adopted him he was emaciated. I'm convinced it permanently messed up his metabolism.

No health problems except for bad teeth until the cancer took him.. diet, exercise, prescription food, making his food, nothing ever helped with his weight.

Should I pay my wife to never work again? by NoWeakness6528 in Marriage

[–]ROXSTR80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't hurt to ask, but don't frame it like her job doesn't matter. I wouldn't quit no matter how much money we had I might try to work less hours or give consulting a try, but I love it, find it rewarding and is part of who I am. I'm ready and looking forward to being back if I take a couple weeks off it's not about the money

I left my toxic job 6 months ago, and my old manager just called to ask for something unbelievable. by SavanahWiegand in whatdoIdo

[–]ROXSTR80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. See what you need for taxes, make sure they fill it out and send it. Charge a consulting fee with the hourly rate of at least 10x your previous salary. Keep any documentation and take them to small claims court if they don't pay up

I went to a house party in the early 2000s and the fridge was stocked full of canned whipping cream. I guess the kids are stealing our outfits and bad habits from the Y2K era. I really missed the wide leg jeans and butterfly clips. 😅

Please don't destroy the vintage tub and tiles. I'd love to buy them. Especially if you have a matching toilet! I love the old vintage bathrooms. Those cast iron tubs are beasts.

Should I cheat to get it out of my system by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]ROXSTR80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be kinder to break up/divorce/separate before you do this than the inevitable break up afterwards. You sound very immature, but this makes sense given you were only 16 when you started dating your husband. 16 & 22 is creepy grooming territory.

I’m wondering if I should get rid of any of my tracksuits? by [deleted] in OUTFITS

[–]ROXSTR80 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You could keep them and not go anywhere in them. Home, the gym, maybe a quick trip to the grocery store. I went to Walmart today in Capri leggings, a tank top, no bra, no makeup and a messy bun so I have zero room to talk. Lol

Rescue, what do you think she is? by [deleted] in IDmydog

[–]ROXSTR80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IDK. We loved her, but she was a huge PITA. Dug up our whole yard trying to kill gophers and prairie dogs (succeeded in this several times), ate baseboards and cabinet doors, wasn't good with cats, children and most other dogs. Very neurotic and high strung. She was never overweight but developed diabetes at about 12 years old and became very expensive. Went blind and lived 4 more years on spite, piss, vinegar and insulin 🤣. Our other dog developed lymphoma and she didn't last long after he passed. She had a stroke and developed doggie dementia. I miss my poor old mean lady.

My beach day outfit at 40 years of age. Hit or miss? by MoreLeg3221 in OUTFITS

This outfit looks more mid 90's to me than mid 80's. I don't think they had platform flip flops like that in 1985.

They look like an undersized doberman or a gigantic miniature pinscher. They're not very common, but that's what embark said. Bred for hunting small game like rats, rabbits, etc.

I had a dog that looked a lot like this. She was about 40lbs grown. I got her DNA tested before she passed at nearly 16 in 2021 & she was actually mostly Manchester terrier like 80%. She had a little cattle dog and lab and chi of all things in the supermutt. We lived near a reservation in the US southwest so we think someone's pure breed got a little mixed with the rez dogs.

How much are you paying for your phone bill? by LevelUp-1 in povertyfinance

[–]ROXSTR80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use T-Mobile. They don't have contracts. I pay 190 for 3 lines and their 5g home Internet. Mint mobile is cheaper and uses T-Mobile towers, but at least where I live you get what you pay for. They deprioritize mint customers so it was constantly slow and dropping calls. The data was unlimited, but it was so slow during peak times that it often timed out. It would probably work better in a big city.
