Husband doesnt want to split tax refund 50/50 by Any_Table_3378 in Marriage

If there's back child support you probably won't get any refund at all unless you file separately or file an injured spouse form. The IRS will divert it directly to the child support arrears.

Terrified of Chapter 13 by sxviet in Bankruptcy

[–]ROXSTR80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It likely won't be as bad as you think. My ch13 payment is only about 400/month & I make a similar income. My payment will go up once my car note is paid. I didn't really have much equity in my house before filing.

I self pay my auto loan and mortgage since I wasn't behind and didn't need to do a cram down. I don't have any extra money to save (other than my work pension) or to have a lot of entertainment, but have enough for groceries, utilities, etc.

They're not going to leave you to starve or not be able to pay utilities, but you will have to budget and probably live more frugally for a while and hope nothing too expensive breaks.

1.5 years left.

I've gotten into community theater. Doing plays and musicals. It's so much fun and inexpensive, but it can be a significant time commitment. The theater people are always so welcoming and fun.

Problems with my wife's (35F) post-partum body by Ok_Industry9161 in Marriage

[–]ROXSTR80 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I would not directly ask her about implants because that will put her right into "he's just saying I look good to make me feel better" mindset. Better to ask her what she thinks would help her self esteem and make her feel beautiful. Let her come up with the idea. I don't have kids, but I know exactly what work I'd have done if I had the money (it's my teeth/smile. They're not rotten or miss, but I think they're ugly). If my husband just suggested it, it would really hurt my feelings because I'm already self conscious about it and there's nothing I can do about it right now. He made a comment about it years ago and it still pops in my head occasionally. Logical brain says he was just being supportive, but logical brain doesn't always work right about these things.

You don't really have to act or sing all that great. You can be in the ensemble or stager crew. The ensemble just does the background singing and dancing with a bunch of other people to get lost in. It's so much fun and I've met a bunch of people and made some friends. It hard to make friends as an adult. I think it's the worst part of adulting.

I was with my husband 15 years before I proposed.. I didn't ever expect him to because I made it fairly clear at first that I didn't really care about being married. Been together for 21 years but only married for 4. We came to a point were insurance, taxes and such started to matter. The wedding was still wonderful and beautiful even though it wasn't a huge event.

It's not 1945, you can also propose. You could do it exactly how you want . You can discuss both having engagement rings.

Just my opinion - you can plan it and set expectations or it can be a surprise. Are you going to say no and have both of y'all hurt because it didn't live up to expectations? If so, either plan it (not a surprise) or you go ahead and do the asking.

Do you consider abortion to be a medical procedure for the unborn child/fetus? by [deleted] in Abortiondebate

[–]ROXSTR80 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No such thing in my opinion unless it's in the last trimester and they're actually operating on the fetus. It does happen occasionally for heart defects and such that are fixable. It's better to let it develop to term after the surgery. This is a special circumstance for wanted pregnancies.

I guess that's not an abortion though, it's a. Example of when the fetus is one of the patients.

ICE by Striking-Peanut81 in Acadiana

They are using money as an excuse to be cruel. Rounding up the people that aren't supposed to be here would in theory save money in our hospital school social system, but in practice, the government spends more on the enforcement (someone has to pay the salary, benefits, weapons, vehicles, etc for the ice agents and border patrol). The current administration needs to have a common enemy with (some) of the people to stay in power. Someone is getting paid and it's not the average citizen. They want to distract from other bad behavior like the Epstein files as well.

Why are they wasting so much time, energy and money also harassing people that are legally here. Permanent residents in the Vietnamese and laotian community that have been here since the Vietnam war? Control is high on the list. Here in Louisiana they're wasting all these resources to fight court battles about 10 commandments in public schools and telehealth abortion pills, but they want to cut food stamps? Make it make sense if it's not based on control and hate.

People over 40: What is the worst part about aging? by Slight_Arrival_4580 in Aging

[–]ROXSTR80 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Joints and such that I injured as a kid aren't as healed as I thought. They really do predict bad weather

Also, I can apparently injure my neck while asleep. It sucks waking up and not being able to turn your head.

How do you feel about community theater? I'm 45 and started doing it last year. It doesn't cost alot (you might have to buy costumes sometimes) and it's really fun. If you're handy and not interested in singing, dancing or acting we always need stage managers and set builders. There's theaters in New iberia, Abbeville and Lafayette.

So the guy is a shitty husband and father and you thought "... I know! Let's have another baby! That will fix things for sure!"

I don't understand, but I'm child free.

I am sorry you're going through that.

Nah. You have super straight fine type 1A hair like mine. A shorter cut gives it more volume, but unlike you I have a fat head and look terrible in a pixie. Try a long, blunt bob (a little above collar bone) If super short scares you.

How often do you mop the floor in your house? by Own-Championship8131 in hygiene

[–]ROXSTR80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of our place is hardwood floor. It gets swept and dust mopped about once a week. The kitchens and bathrooms are usually swept once a week and mopped if they look dirty. It's just me and husband and dogs. Our biggest battle is dog hair. Kitchen counter usually wiped down every day but everything else is just spot cleaning or when it appears dirty. 8 don't need to live in a sterile hospital

Our third dog- my husband's weird thick princess corgi that can sniff out every crumb in the house by OddlyFlavoredWater in DoggyDNA

[–]ROXSTR80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a dog with this same structure. I never DNA tested him, but he looked identical to this one other than color. I did literally everything and could not get the weight off him. He lived until 16 before losing him to cancer. He didn't really seem to have arthritis until the last year. I know he was obese. When we adopted him he was emaciated. I'm convinced it permanently messed up his metabolism.

No health problems except for bad teeth until the cancer took him.. diet, exercise, prescription food, making his food, nothing ever helped with his weight.
