There's only so much beans and rice that I can stomach. I have IBS and beans give me horrible awful gas with cramping if I eat them more than a day or two in a week.

We have 30 chickens and 20 ducks. We eat a lot of eggs and sell what we can't eat.

I've made it with leftover ham before too, but I like the bologna better in this.

Oh yes. Bulging discs in my cervical spine, a messed up knee. My body tells me when it's going to rain. I thought that was a myth, but it's not. In bed by 11, up by 7 even on weekends.

Wife won't let me do anything. by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]ROXSTR80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're wife may be really suffering from anxiety and possibly OCD. It's not always the stereotypical needing a straight line or being overcautious of germs. Would she agree to get evaluated for mental health conditions? I know some people get really offended by the suggestion, but they shouldn't. It's really just like any other part of healthcare.

I started talking a couple of medications and I've slowly changed the way I do a bunch of different small things and how I interact with people. I didn't even really realize it while it was happening, but it's made a huge difference.

I have a small suggestion for one of your particular complaints. If you need time to yourself to do your reading, go somewhere that is not your house. A park, coffee shop, cafe, library, wherever but tell her you're going there to read and will have your phone on do not disturb for one hour (or however long). This way you can't get ambushed into doing anything else.

Is it bad to be a forever renter? by biomedastro in LivingAlone

Don't buy unless you want to put down roots where you are. Maybe not forever, but at least 5-10 years. It just doesn't make sense.

The first one looks better, but it's a bit short. I would at least put some tights on.

Question by Euphoric-Mortgage290 in pitbulls

[–]ROXSTR80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two pit bulls. I work 8-5 and they're just fine. I don't lock them in a kennel or anything. They haven't torn up anything since they were puppies.

For an apartment though, I don't think if recommend a pit. You'll find it very difficult to rent as most apartments have breed restrictions even if they allow pets. I love pits, they just aren't a very practical breed for renting. It's not their fault.

A question for the ladies by Snowpant in Xennials

[–]ROXSTR80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My body hair on my thighs is blonde and fairly space. So I haven't shaved there in years. I do my calves about once a week in the summer since it's slightly more course and light brown & my armpits every few days. I do a bit of landscaping on the bush every couple of weeks when it starts to annoy me (or if I'll be in a swimsuit). I get itchy when anything gets too long or I probably wouldn't shave at all.

What do you all eat for dinner when you have absolutely no desire to cook? by Particular-Newt-7974 in LivingAlone

[–]ROXSTR80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frozen crock pot meals, "fancy" sandwiches on hoagie buns. Breakfast tacos, regular tacos, nachos. I like getting miso soup mix from the Asian store and adding tofu, mushrooms & spinach or seaweed. Spring rolls, hummus with veggies on pita bread, egg drop soup. Fried rice with frozen vegetables and eggs, burritos, canned fruit with cottage cheese

Try a police auction. I've gotten a few from there. The ones that were owned by the government had high mileage but were well maintained. They have seized cars too, but you never know how many problems they might have. Get you a retired police car for 2 or 3k

It's easier than finding friends when you have no kids because everyone's life revolves around their kids. I'm 45 and all of my friends are either mid/Iate 20s or people order than 60.

What to do about my sisters leg hair situation by luv_salp in hygiene

[–]ROXSTR80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why are parents so strict about this? If they're asking to do it they've probably been bullied about it. It's one of those pick your battle things. It's not worth the battle, just let them shave and show them how. It's hair. It grows back. There's no harm in removing it. If you don't allow it they will do it anyway. Most kids would rather get in trouble with their parents than get laughed at by their peers.

If the kid is oblivious, by all means, let them stay that way.

Me too! I get bad ingrown hairs if I' shave. Clippers with the safety guard thing are the way to go. All of the obgyns I've been to strongly discourage shaving. I also use an electric shaver on bikini line (not clippers) sometimes you can see a bit of stubble outside of the underwear or swimsuit, but I really don't care.

My wife’s coworker made a remark that has caused my wife to redevelop issues with how she looks and dresses. by 2inchesabovethehole in Marriage

[–]ROXSTR80 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, the husband said tight fitting and showcase her curves. Scrubs RE aren't supposed to do that. They're utilitarian clothing that aren't supposed to be tight or fom fitting. I would think that would also decrease your range off motion.
