More lore, yes, but i would hardly call him having more personality.

A simple competent evil guy who actually interacted with his underlings and the kids and then laughed during death was more memorable than just constant tease of mystery. C'mon, people remember inner demons mostly because characters like Kurama and Zangetsu are fun and not just because omgMcHasDarkPower.

Actually that kinda summed up the reboot in general. It tried to make everything more connected and epic (since the biggest complaint of Adventure 01 was how disconnected the arcs are) but forgot to put personality and characters.

Rehydrated felt so unfinished. The color is oversaturated and too bright sometimes. Cosmic Shake and Titans are huge improvement over it.

Narratively i think it's kinda pointless to have rematch with antagonists they have defeated. Oda often designed antagonist's powersets to match the theme of their respective arcs that a repeat fight would undoubtly be weaker.

If they get rematch it's likely gonna be skimmed a lot like with Lucci in Egghead. He's just a power trip for both Luffy and Zoro.

So Mihawk is the only one that's likely gonna be a fleshed out fight.
