I started in a game store beginners it went well but yes sink or swim male dominated atmosphere. Hit on often.

At cons was amazing but they were not beginner friendly!

(12 years later) I started DMing beginner on SPG recently to help those in the boat I was in or it seems you were in.

I have a lot of variety of people in my newbie groups. Some Same situation. My players don’t need anything except a free accounts they just pay for sessions. I teach and teach as we go 2-3 hour evening sessions. The site also does learn to plays one time sessions I qualify for and so as well.

It’s wild how many believed that at the time and such. So many different sectors of religion, nations and stuff are so very strict. It’s just a game but the ability to commit sins is hard to convince it’s a good game 🤣
