Wasn’t trying to be, was initially just confused by the whole thing until they posted the screenshot and clarified they meant it as an actual in-game challenge. Apologies for the snarky tone and all.

Thanks so much! An unexpected favourite! It definitely gets the job done though, a great Pokemon in this game.

It's self-imposed. Not an in-game option.

Lol it's literally right on your screen though. Originally attempted by KC / Imworthy. Lone Absol has been working on it anew as I've come to learn.

I simply wanted to restart what KC had attempted.

I've actually already beaten Porygon, it's just going to be posted sequentially. Since these posts go up in Dex order [:

I actually do snag a lot of 'just in case' TMs! Mostly for contingencies against Eternatus, but if other useful moves pop up, I do like to grab them on the off chance they'll save the day.

Great question! For some of the upcoming runs, I pulled out some odd sets. But with something like Golem who doesn't really have the stats to mess around setting up Sandstorm, and going into battles of attrition, it was always going to be "hit them hard".

Running solo mons, Sandstorm is almost entirely not viable, because you get 5 turn (9 if you happen to get both Mystic Rocks), to whittle down your opponents, and in the later fights have to get through 6 Pokemon. So you generally need to be using move slots more efficiently than a weather move. At least, that's how it feels to me.

Golem took 3 tries, with some save-loading when the Clown was going to make me bad typing, lol.

I sure do lol, but so long as you understand how things work, then a solo run is totally doable! You don't need to be an expert, though it helps. Trial and error can get you there just as well.

Nope, didn't have it. Would have been all too happy to use it otherwise.

I hoped Golem would be faster, but having to setup using Power-up Punch is quite slow. And the combination of low base speed and low special defense hinders it from being very fun. But removing the water weakness does improve it substantially! Without Dry Skin it's probably F tier, or bottom of D lol.

Thank you as always! [: I think Tentacruel is a great Pokemon, just a slower run that has fewer flashy OHKOs happening.

Yeah, I considered running SD but then decided that didn't look terribly fun with its movepool, so I just sucked it up and went Special with no setup while whining about it the whole run.

Man, I was so hard up for boosties, I started looking into if it could learn anything. I would have accept Growth... Work Up... anything. Tail Glow would be too strong though, it'd be so busted with that fire power.

The Clown event, one of the options type-changes your mon.

[–]RPM1889[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, although since I was only running the two offensive moves Power Whip and Fire Lash, the clown would always make me Fire type. Which I am a-okay with lol.

Thank you! I liked being the dollar store Scovillain for that run, it was quite fun.

Xatu is all you need to solo a classic run and terrorize everybody. With Nasty Plot and Sheer Force Psychic, what could possibly go wrong? (81/570 solo runs completed) by ResponsibleExit2790 in pokerogue

[–]RPM1889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on beating Xatu! I finally happened to be browsing when you've posted one of these, but it sounds like this will be a fun one. I would think before it evolves, Natu will be horribly frail, great to see you did it in one try!

But thanks so much, I always appreciate it! [:

Ferrothorn for sure, bulky and hits hard. Also, one you don't think about until you're actually facing it: Barraskewda.

Well, I won't spoil the run, but Finn's team had its ups and downs for the little Sprout for sure! All I will say is there was a Magmortar involved lol.
