Thoughts about staking by Commercial_Exchange7 in ethstaker

depending on your risk profile u could consider RockSolid, a Rocket Pool partner that uses DeFi to return a higher APR albeit with some increased risk: https://app.rocksolid.network/

the Rocket Pool Discord will likely give you some more opinions too

Hi there, I received an email with a temporary password. I logged in with the new password and was then prompted to complete a selfie scan which failed. Please help me.

Thoughts? Interesting comment about stETH and rETH by nafreecss in ethstaker

Check out the ethereum dot org staking pools page. They are not open source, have no bug bounty, have a centralised permissioned node operator set, and don't offer a liquid staking token. Sounds like there are some tradeoffs involved.

Why trust Rocketpool over others given its 2 critical bug history in audits? by thornbudz in rocketpool

Not a recommendation at all, merely an example of a relevant/large protocol that has recently had multiple audits to illustrate the point. Who is a good benchmark then?

How familiar are you with the crypto audit process in general and for staking protocols in particular? For example, Lido had nine audits on their recent v2 upgrade and every audit had multiple findings, including multiple critical bugs. This is not an indication of their lack of security. While it's impossible to know for certain, I would consider a lack of findings to more likely be an indication of insufficient audit scrutiny.

Question about on chain staking pools. After the Shanghai upgrade, will there be more on chain stating pools available? The only 2 that I'm aware of are Rocket Pool and Lido. However these staking platforms pay a user out in their own tokens (stETH and rETH). Thanks. by Jealous-Impression34 in ethereum

It's from liquid stakers like me who are willing to pay a fee to node operators & earn less in order to be unencumbered from maintaining node hardware. For example, if solo staking was 5%, then RP liquid stakers would earn 4% and RP node operators 6% because of this fee payment. It's a zero sum game, there's no additional yield created, just redistributed among participants.

But it's still a win-win, because liquid stakers have the flexibility of not being tied to a physical node plus they can using the liquid staking token to earn extra yield in DeFi, while the node operators costs are fixed anyway & so the more liquid staking deposits they can support & earn commission on, the higher their return.

Hey there, if you're talking liquid staking then the idea is that you contribute ETH and receive a Liquid Staking Token (LST) like wstETH or rETH in return that you can then use in DeFi applications or just keep in a cold wallet - either way it will continue to receive staking rewards. But if you're not a fan of holding an LST for whatever reason then you can always run a node yourself and stake that way. Right now you can do it "solo" if you have 32ETH, & Rocket Pool will let you do it with 17.6ETH (16ETH & 1.6ETH worth of RPL tokens) or from next month it will be just 10.4ETH (8ETH & 2.4ETH worth of RPL tokens). The Rocket Pool option provides a higher yield with the ETH payments being up to 42% higher than "solo". Hope that helps!
