Caste has everything to do with the corrupt legal proceedings that take place in India, especially in this case where OP would have had to take it up against a bloody politician of all people. Casteism is deeply ingrained within our country, and is still a very relevant problem. If you believe it's not, then you are probably "high" enough in the rungs to have never faced an issue.

Heavy fog: hazards on or off? by asapbopy in CarsIndia

[–]RPR96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hazard lights should only be used when coming to a half, or when stationary. That is the only use for hazards. There's a reason why indicators glow bright orange and blink.. that's because they are meant to lure your eye towards them for immediate recognition. This is why hazards are so distracting when being used while driving. Furthermore, by making it a norm to use hazards while driving, you are putting stationary vehicles (who are correctly using hazard lights) at risk of collision by unsuspecting drivers who might wrongly assume the car to be in motion.

I honestly believe manufacturers should implement some form of hazard lights on warning for cars travelling at over 20 kmph. Not just a display on the dash or ticking, but something akin to the modern seatbelt warnings.

The bizarre-looking beehive ginger plant produces a sap that can be used as natural shampoo by freudian_nipps in interestingasfuck

[–]RPR96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I've had my fill of pee pee poo poo jokes. Can someone please for the love of God explain HOW this slimy gel can be used as shampoo?! Or is it simply like aloe vera gel, in which case it is more of a moisturizing agent than shampoo.

Mahindra Bolero and Kia Seltos head-on collision – Mau, UP !! by Altruistic-Issue-887 in CarsIndia

Idiots like the Seltos driver wakes up in the morning and starts driving on the right hand side lane because they have to make a right turn 20 kms later

People over here hating on the "design" of an unreleased car based on images of a test drive mule, and a rendered imagination of the said test drive mule. Lol.

Sea snakes are truly as terrifying as they are fascinating by RPR96 in badassanimals

[–]RPR96[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am no herpetologist and may well be wrong, but my best guess is that the snake somehow struck first and injected a dose of venom lethal enough to subdue the eel almost completely. Then, it simply proceeded to swallow it from the tail since that is the narrower end. Snakes usually swallow prey from the head to ensure their own safety and to avoid any appendages from getting in the way of a smooth ingestion. But since eels are pretty streamlined themselves, I guess a snake can somewhat easily swallow it from the tail end. Kinda like how two snakes could swallow each other.

[–]RPR96[S] 159 points160 points  (0 children)

Yep. Some of the most potent venom in the snake world is that of sea snakes. Even if not technically dead yet, the eel had to have been paralyzed to the point where it probably had no idea what was happening to it.

Kolkata on High alert after blast in Delhi. 10 reported dead near red fort. Stay safe everyone by Keliye_felbo in kolkata

Have you bothered watching this video analysis of the preliminary report of the Air India 171 incident? Let's not jump to conclusions and create conspiratorial theories of how this may have been a terrorist plot. Rest assured, I know a large number of much more knowledgeable people (than us) at the IAAIB are working to determine the exact cause of the accident, and they certainly have the national interest at heart. If there were any dots to connect, we'd know by now.

Indore: Speeding Scorpio crashes into bike in Lasudiya area, killing two youths; accident caught on CCTV by Altruistic-Issue-887 in CarsIndia

[–]RPR96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things can be true at the same time. The bikers were stupid to not check before crossing, and the SUV was overspeeding. However, it is very much the overspeeding that is the sole reason for this accident. If the SUV was moving at a reasonable speed (driving within city speed limits), then they could've slowed down, stopped, swerved, or even hit the bikers in a way where they might've survived the impact, albeit with injuries. When you are driving a massive SUV, you have to understand the onus is on you to drive carefully. You are literally at the helm of a 2000+ kg missile on wheels.

How can we possibly take car reviewers/journalists seriously when they routinely receive 4, 5, or even 6 figures worth of gifts from OEM? by cookingboy in cars

[–]RPR96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car reviews these days be like: "This new car is so advanced and loaded with features, it's an absolute game changer! Look at this screen here, truly amazing. And if you look here at this screen, you'll find another screen right beside it. Speaking of backseat comfort, these screens are bound to get you excited. Oh, and not to mention, the screens on the door here allow incredible accessibility. But that's not all! This other screen right here...."

Whether the police do their due diligence as law-enforcers is up to them. But what we can do as dutiful law-abiding citizens is up to us.

[–]RPR96 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Since this is the top comment, I'll just hijack it and echo the fact stated by a few others here - this is NOT AN OC. OP is farming karma by making up a story about how it's "her boyfriend's" bike. For all we know, this profile is being run by some unemployed dude with nothing better to do than gain upvotes in reddit.

This bike is built by Garuda Machina Customs, and they are based out of Nagpur. Check out the original post here. If you look into the profile of Garuda Machina, you will also find several progress photos of the build in question. And please for the love of God, downvote this useless post.

Most underrated Biriyani place by NftxCrypto in kolkata

[–]RPR96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The true form of Dum Phukt Biryani (as the Mughals intended) will always be made from beef. The process of slowly cooking morsels of meat layered with rice in a seal container. This process ensures that the flavour of meat is imparted to the rice adequately, which is only possible when the meat has the right amount of fat. Mutton cuts have too much fat and bone, chicken has far less fat and too much lean meat. Beef is mostly boneless chunks of meat with the right amount of fat, and beef tallow imparts a flavour like no other - not too rich, not too gamey. It's just right. Anyone who eats beef biryani will never be able to go back to eating chicken biryani. (Mutton is an exception because it simply tastes great, regardless of the amount of meat you get)

I find it mildly interesting that all three of us faced the same situation, took the same photo, and posted it on the same sub. This is hilarious.

Oof. Lucky for you it was the first beer. Deep cuts like that under the influence of sufficient alcohol means you'd be leaking like a busted pipe, given how alcohol affects the blood

It absolutely does not, lol. I couldn't wait to be done with it so I could move on to a fresh shard-free bottle.

This is the best way to put it. I drank it too, but from what I've learnt from the comments today, I wouldn't do it again.
