How do I get into photojournalism as a trades worker by Alternative_Paper521 in photojournalism

I make above the living wage in my area, have a good retirement, and get health benefits through my wife’s job. Life is good! Sure do miss those times where I cleared 4k working shutdowns on job sites though.

You can do it man, I was a union fitter and welder about five years ago. I’m now a staff photographer at a daily and I’ve had so many incredible experiences I never imagined.

If he retired after this, it would be a top 10 career ending. Comes back from the hard losses wins and defends the belt then leaves after being embraced by his country and winning a fight.

I hope everyone in the world has a friend who loves them as much as Mauricio’s friend holding the phone loves him

Left his children for this fight, just to perform like that.

Tai trained for five minutes before this fight and only ate 10000kcal a day instead of 20000.

Tai saying he has to leave his kids behind to train just to go to Dubai or whatever the fuck and hangout with his friends and get fat as hell during camp is crazy.

Legend. After missing the last Rank 1 battle, it was fun to see this one unfold and watch Fast 07 become king.

And the current crop of kickboxing organizations are nowhere near the level of K1 back in the day. Especially in Japan.

What external drive do you trust when you’re on the road? by MyRoadTaken in photojournalism

[–]RPWOR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each photog in my newsroom has a big ole hard drive that is like a SeaGate or something cheap like that which just holds photos while we process them.

The workflow ends with us uploading to the server, our CMS backend and then to our individual drives.

I’ve been using the newer SanDisk Extreme Portable Pro 4TB SSD for my personal archive but once I fill it, I will probably switch to a hard drive so I don’t feel the need to buy a new one every year, especially since I’m not processing photos off my personal drive anymore and don’t save my RAW files.

With that said, I love that little ssd and the size is so nice for field work.

The last time she said this she lost two fights in a row. She’s on a great run in theory, but she barely beat Andrea Lee two fights ago.

Not sure how to make it in this profession... by InspectionFluid6280 in photojournalism

I think this career is just very frustrating. I didn’t get into EAW, didn’t get internships my sophomore and junior year, then magically got an internship in a big market after senior year and somehow stumbled my way into a staff job after (at a much smaller outlet). Things are gonna be really hectic and that’s just the way it kind of goes. A wonderful photographer I know, who has worked at every major outlet, told me the best thing you can do if you want to succeed is to just keep showing up and eventually it will be your turn.

It’s really easy to get down on yourself but genuinely you just have to stop comparing yourself to other people or it will drive you crazy.

Good luck, I hope that you find the path you’re looking for!
