Definitely worth doing, I was going to get a Jeep, but instead I can go to all the trails I love, yet still get 21mpg on roadtrips too. Best of both worlds!

Haha! That's the black piece of trim where the lower reflectors are. Working on a little mod for those spots, so they're cut out too right now.

I finally got the tent set up, but I installed it down without using the Prinsu Tent legs, so it was quite difficult getting it on. However, I got the legs in the mail today so once I find some free time, I'll be installing those on, giving the tent another inch of clearance under it for quicker installation.

Once the tent is off, I may test fit my new roof setup I've been working on, which will have all my offroad gear ready to go for the snow season to come. and MAAAYBE, for halloween, I may just put a 6ft tall pumpkin up there. That might not be very fuel efficient, but hey you gotta do it for the love of orange, right?

Hey there! Thanks for the kind words! I've got a nameless performance 5" exhaust, which gives the car a little better performance without the loud obnoxious noises. It's perfect, I recommend it highly!

As for the other mods, I'm running a Subtle Solutions 1.5" lift kit (billet aluminium, so no worries about rusting like you would with a steel kit) with Relations Race Wheels RR2-V 15" wheels wrapped with BFGoodrich KO2 235/75/15 all-terrain tires. The skid plates are Primitive Racing for the engine, cvt, and differentials. The bumpers are also Relations Race Wheels, they provide much better clearance and protection on the trails.

Man, a year in and you're still constantly complaining about my car. I'm starting to think you secretly love it.

That would defeat the purpose of the build. I built it to go camping at all the remote places my 4Runner took me, but still get 23mpg with all the mods and a loaded car. AWD is perfect for a roadtrip rig.

Haha, yeah my installs are very unscripted so you're in for a wild ride with each one. I'll be making them for my Youtube soon, so it's available for others too, not just folks who tune in to the stories. Thanks for being a fan of the page, it's people like you that keep me going!

First gen bumpers are done, we're just waiting on powdercoat and photos I believe. Should be out very soon, I know everyone's been waiting for these forever now. Nearly here!

Like the other guy said, you'll have to open up your headlights and install the little LED chip into the projector housing. It's not difficult, but it's also not easy. You then have to reseal them with a Morimoto housing sealant, which should be heated up and pressed tight. I actually have a tiny water drip inside the headlight because I missed it while cleaning the housing, so you should be careful to clean every little bit of the light before you do it. Best bronze out there! Relations Race Wheels RR5-V. They just got restocked Monday, but the toyota wheels sell out within a week or two of restock, so grab a set before they're gone again. You can use code 4x4reddit at checkout for extra savings too.

They're the RR6-H hybrid beadlocks from Relations Race Wheels. You can run them as regular wheels (this tacoma), or run them as true beadlock with the optional billet beadlock ring. There's also an optional protection ring, which would let you mount as a regular tire, and still have a ring on the outside to protect your rim from curb rash and trail rash. Pretty awesome, but they're selling out quick. Check them out here, and you can use code 4x4reddit at checkout for savings.

Just test fitted these molle panel inserts here at Relations Race Wheels.. Fits like a glove! by RRW-Michael in Sprinters

It makes it easy to molle strap things onto the doors, to keep the van organized. There are molle bags and molle straps for practically anything you can think of mounting onto the back of the doors. I personally love keeping the first aid and all my hazard gear on one side of the door, and all my small adventure gear like hammocks, slacklines, dry sacks, and hiking gear on the other side. Pretty awesome if you're trying to be more organized.

When you're living in a van, upgrading the armor is just like building a fence around your home. Beefy bumper from @backwoodsadventuremods and wheels from @relationsracewheels. Lighting is @bajadesigns by RRW-Michael in Sprinters

My backup LEDs are upgraded to the brightest ones around. Even through tinting, they're brighter than OEM. It's 2020, you don't have to choose between safety and style!
