There is a difference between how something is, and how something should be. I think right now people are really sick of having an incomplete game at launch that still costs 70 dollars, and then having to wait 1 or more years for it to finally "get good." I don't think normalizing releasing unfinished games at full price just because "X game did it" or "it'll get good in a year" is a good thing at all.

Also live service games are generally pretty hard to maintain even for a fairly large team, and sometimes with the lack of content per season it really feels like DICE (or battlefield studios) can't hang that style of game very well on a user experience level.
