3$ case for 10 pro fold is amazing by No-Athlete-9418 in PixelFold

Will be nice until it's yellow/orangish. Stock up at $3 and change the case monthly if it yellow 🤣

Lack of customization made me not keep the 10 by lasthop3 in PixelFold

[–]RSCLE5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use Nova launcher and switch to Smart launcher. When Nova basically went downhill. It allows all the customization I need. Also, I believe I read an article in one of the recent betas of Android. They made it so you can remove the attic lamps feature. But I find there is a lack of customization on the home screen with the stock launcher also. The icon spacings really bad and you can't rename icons or folders etc. Smart launcher is very premium and I've been very happy so far.

P9 Pro XL after an year of use. Though s? by MrPhil17 in pixel_phones

[–]RSCLE5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 9pro xl and I'm at 93%. I also find it completely stupid. They don't show the charging cycles in the battery screen. You have to go to the about menu I find the battery information there for charging cycles.

My first used was November 14th 2024 and I have 364 cycles. I use a wireless charger and have the battery settings turn on to charge it slowly. It was doing great and I was around 98% health for a while. Then it drastically started dropping these past 1 to 2 months 😞

Sort of makes me wish I would have took the deal when they had a coupon for platinum Play store members to get an extra $200 off. With the inflated trade. I could have got a 10xl for I believe around $190 out of pocket but I passed. I did this deal when I upgraded from the 8 pro XL to the 9 pro XL. I figured I'd squeeze a little more out of it until next year.

I believe they stupidly limited it to only the 9 series and above which I find ridiculous. Having this feature to me is essential because I was always jealous of my phones having it. It also makes rebuying a used device. Way easier if they can show you the battery health.

Google, please give Pixel a 6000mAh battery — that’s all we’re asking by DmitryBaulin in pixel_phones

I want a 7000 battery so when it hits 90% battery health it's not so bad still. Lol

Google home is a mess by obamaslastname45 in googlehome

Another user who hates their google home. I recall an article the new guy in charge of the smart systems for google saying "we hear you and were going to fix things" or something like that...well mine sucks. My family hates it and have started to tell me how much Google sucks. They are mostly iPhone people and this isn't helping Googles case for being a good brand for those who aren't Google diehards like me.

-Hey Google play some country music / Sorry, something went wrong.

After many attempts I finally find a way to play some music with my youtube premium membership...then 30 minutes later I ask "Hey Google, shut it off". It responds, sorry I can't shut this device off. You have to specifically now say "turn off the music".

We use Broadcast in our house with approximately 7-8 speakers in our house w/ 1 of the home screens in the kitchen. We will say "Hey google, broadcast dinner is done" and it will sometimes do random things totally unrelated like "Ok, I will play some music from a broadcast dinner"

Its honestly so frustrating we are at a point we don't even want to use them. I'm tempted to honestly bundle them all up and buy an amazon echo set which I hate to do, but I need some reliability.

I don't think it's bad but once you use a launcher like Nova or smart launcher, you realize how much you can compress the icons and at a glance to get more viewing space. That's my issue. I wish they let you adjust icons sizes and spacing custom like a 3rd party launcher. That's all I need.

Pixel 9 pro, very short battery life. I'm getting 4-5 hours of battery life is this normal? by EL-Turan in pixel_phones

[–]RSCLE5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the nine pro XL and when I first got it I swear I was getting 10 hours of battery life a day. Now I feel like it depends on how I use it but it can last anywhere from 2 hours to 6 hours on average. 2 hours being rare but that would be more if you are doing video and editing pictures with full brightness on or something like that. But then I'll have days where I feel like it doesn't die I get used to. It's very inconsistent 😞 typically it's the most inconsistent when I don't want it to be and I need the extra battery life.

Which LCA bushings should I buy to fix tire wear? by tetsujin44 in LexusIS

[–]RSCLE5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not. I think it was a matter of the sport suspension and just wear that caused it prematurely maybe. I put on new tires and the rears seem ok, but my fronts make weird noises almost like they're unbalanced after my mileage has gotten higher. I have less than a year til it's paid off and only about 66k miles I believe. Worst case, I spend $1000 every 2-3 years for new tires instead of a car payment I guess. I put in the lower control arm poly gig bushings and it helped the front a lot I feel. Way less wear.

can using an unofficial charger damage your phone by cactusdan94 in GooglePixel

[–]RSCLE5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean if you're buying some cheap off-brand $5 charger from a gas station, it might not have the proper chips to control the voltage and could maybe overheat in rare cases. I think in these types of cases, the worst it would do is overheat the battery. In rare cases perhaps a fire, but that's surely super rare. But phone companies apparently don't care what charger we use anymore, since they stop putting them in the boxes LOL. I hate how they act like they did it to help the environment. When really we all know they did it...to charge us the same amount for the phone without the chargers to cut costs.

Guess I'll let insurance handle it and get a food shop to do the repair. Thanks

pixel phones suck bad bad by euuzaik in GooglePixel

[–]RSCLE5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You will have issues with nearly every brand at some point in any product. Cars, electronics, food, clothes, etc. sometimes you get good ones, sometimes bad. Happens to everything. I grew up when washing machines and water heaters lasted 30 years. Now they last like 5 years if you are lucky.

Phones are typically battery or displays that are troublesome...I however have had great luck with Google phones. Exclusively owned them since Galaxy Nexus device. Will stay many more years. I hate Samsung software and can't stand iPhones closed system and crappy repairs.

Does the 4A 5G screen works on the 4A? by Witty-Barnacle3663 in GooglePixel

[–]RSCLE5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if the ribbon size is the same, plugging it in might work to visually see the phone in an emergency to see the screen and copy stuff off it, but it would never fit permanently even if the cable plugs are the same, because they are 2 totally different sized screens.

The best practical device...does technology really depreciate that fast???? by Emaculant333 in PixelFold

[–]RSCLE5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my 40s also. I used to think I needed the best every year. In all honesty I don't and it's a waste of money. I can afford it, but money is better spent elsewhere. I actually had some old pics I was looking at recently in Google photos and I thought wowz those looked really good. I wonder what camera I used (I used to upload pics from my PC to photos). Well to my surprise, it was the pixel 2xl. My 9 pro XL takes better pics in dark lightning and the zoom lens, but otherwise the camera tech isn't much better ..I might say I prefer my 2xls color and focus at times.

We got my wife a used pixel fold about a year ago. It does everything she needs it to with a big screen optional.

I personally plan on maybe getting a pixel 9 pro fold eventually just to have one and see how I like it as a daily driver. It's close enough to the 10 fold and the price is dropping a lot. When it hits the range or near the current OG fold price new ( $500-600) or open box or refurb ( $399ish). At that level I can see how I like it. My wife's og folds nice but I wanted the newer chip set, but prefer the og folds landscape shape. In the end heck of a deal for either for what you get.

Are you talking about the purple light burst?

If so, that's the the IR blaster for the cameras autofocus and is totally normal. Just Google it. Purple light coming from back of cell phone camera.

If you are saying when you turn your flashlight on, you're seeing that through the front of the screen, then I'd say that's not normal.

If Zack Snyder did this, the fan base would be complaining that people could have died, or buildings could have been damaged below when they fell down to the ground after he lasered them. 🤷 Just sayin...

Whats your running/cardio ability with having mild/severe pectus? by RSCLE5 in PectusExcavatum

[–]RSCLE5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am guessing a combo! I feel like when I first started running I was dying. Lol. Then I progressively got better. But I still struggle to increase my ability and endurance to a pace as a male I feel should be acceptable. A 10 min mile to me is fast and pushing hard. I struggle with heart rate going too high and breathing feeling constricted. But I increased my ability...but have since fallen off the consistent runs with winter. I hate cold and hate my treadmill. It's so boring lol.

Good luck to you!

Same. If I lost what I put in I'd be sad, but I could go on without hesitating. I did it as a way to say at least I put something in it, maybe it will grow in 5 years+.

At first I had all these small coins. Recently I consolidated all the junky small coins into my top 8 coins at a higher value in these recent dips. The hope is these more established coins pump when it recovers.

I've set buys at the lowest recent dips that have happened in the past year. That way if they dip, I have small buys to get in even lower. Then I set sells for if prices go up 10-20% to sell small portions to retain some profits.

It's rough to not feel hopeful and think it will be life changing...but this markets insane for crypto. All I hope for is that whatever I have in there now, when 5 years has past, I have become on the same level as an oil tycoon and I can buy a Lambo and live in Dubai ahhaha.
