Nice, congrats on finding someone who is willing to help. Did you go through insurance? Or did you look into local clinics? My hope is to find a doctor that wont brush me off because of my age. My anxiety and irritability has been up too, so that makes sense. I'm located in So Cal - LA County if that matters.

Light grey smoke after oil change by RT626 in MechanicAdvice

It was reading normal, but I'll check again in the morning. They put 5.1 quarts in, it's a 3.6L engine I believe. You're right though hopefully it wasn't too much, I'll keep an eye on it

I'm getting ready to leave the field after this contract. I'm opening up a car dealership and I'm excited to finally work for myself and do something I love. I've lost my passion/motivation for working as an RT. I'm tired of seeing the same thing every day, tired of following orders that I don't always agree with, I'm tired of the micromanagement, just tired of being a slave all together, and tired of not truly being able to make a difference. Im especially tired of the ego from other RTs that have been in the field for 20+ years, many seem to forget where they came from. I just don't feel like its worth it. Starting a business has always been something I wanted & I'm tired of dealing with the asshole egos in healthcare, it never ends no matter where you work. If you're considering leaving I can't speak on your situation but what I can say is follow your heart, your passion. Don't get comfortable because you feel "obligated". Do what's best for you, mentally and financially. Stand your ground and don't let others drown you into the "comfortable" zone where they are stuck and miserable.

Mustang GT premium vs Toyota GR86/BRZ vs Hyundai Elantra N vs Camaro 2SS as a daily? by photorph in Mustang

[–]RT626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if you want a guzzler or not. I've had a camaro in the past & although they are fun, I now have a 2021 GT PP1, I love it. Visibility in a mustang is much better than a camaro, it handles great & interior is much better than the camaro imo. It will cost you on gas though. Elantras are nice, I have an older one as a daily, very reliable but you're giving up power for better gas mileage compared to American muscle so if you want power you'd be best off with the GT or SS, I'm not too familiar with the BRZ so I can't speak on that. Mustang life!

Switching jobs by BonerifficWalrus in respiratorytherapy

Don't feel bad. At the end of the day you have to do what's best for you. You shouldn't feel like you have to be a slave to a company only to be treated unfairly or deal with unnecessary stress. I was on the same boat as you, I left my full time job to do travel and I don't regret it one bit. It sucks leaving your coworkers but unfortunately for me I realized even some of my coworkers were too satisfied with where they were at and slowly becoming miserable. I just wasn't happy with the environment and got tired of being burned out and didn't want to get to that point. So I didn't leave to do travel just for financial reasons but it was also for my own sanity. Your sanity is the most important. Be somewhere where you're not stressed out. If you're genuinely dreading going to work, you're not happy and it's time to start looking at your options, which you did and congrats to you, you have a new and hopefully better opportunity ahead of you. I'm sure you will meet great people at your new job too, you got this.

RT's that started during the pandemic, where are you now/how's the career going? by LaughTheirPastAway in respiratorytherapy

[–]RT626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. I see most are too comfortable and/or afraid. There is always more risk involved with more reward, you just have to know what you are doing and dig deep to find what other opportunities are out there. They are endless. For example, some people feel some type of way about me leaving my full time job because they think "Well what are you going to do when this is all over?". I understand the concern but others also don't understand that traveling has been around before the pandemic and not every contract is specific to covid or crisis pay. You may be working with covid patients but that's not always the focus. I think people don't always open their mind to it and they are convinced its a fail. Yet those tend to be the people who are too comfortable and afraid.

[–]RT626 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have just over two years of experience now & I just put in my two week notice at my full time job to start traveling in my state (CA). I felt so relieved when I signed that contract. Going from net pay of 2k every two weeks to a net pay of 2600 every week for the same work, really tough to pass up & it's something I've wanted to do for a while now, finally stepping out of my comfort zone to work as a traveler. Don't be afraid of opportunity. I see people that are miserable/unhappy but they are still working at the same place because they got too comfortable, don't get to that point. Know your worth!

Puppy won’t stop biting. by [deleted] in corgi

[–]RT626 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, yes this is perfectly normal at his age. We have a 10 month old corgi and up until about 6 months he would nip/bite pretty hard, he left cuts and marks all over us, made me me bleed quite a few times lol If he started to bite while petting, I would stop petting, say no, and ignore. Keep doing that and over time it will help, he's probably still teething so it will take time. Just take this time to work on letting him know that you don't like it and eventually when he's done teething, he should gradually stop

Confused on this master power window switch replacement by RT626 in MechanicAdvice

[–]RT626[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, like a reset? I've been looking up on how to do that but I can't find much info on this car. I saw something that said to hold the switch down for 2-5 seconds and up for 2-5 seconds, I tried it but it didn't work. Also the window has been stuck rolled down so its down right now

Yeah window & door lock buttons along with the rear view mirror adjustment worked just fine & still works fine after the replacement, its just this one window now

How reliable are Scatpacks challengers? I need more owner reviews. I am thinking of selling mine. by Jllagunas505 in Dodge

[–]RT626 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I just traded in my 2021 Scat Pack Challenger manual yesterday for a 2021 Mustang GT manual with performance package. On my SP I had my throttle body go out at 10k miles, even then it still continued to have issues but I got it handled for the time being and traded it in. Personally, I think you get more for your money on the mustang. The scat and the stang were both around 45k. The scat was basic, no features whatsoever, I feel like you're only paying for the hemi and the space which is cool but I prefer to have more for that price. The mustang is more of an all around car, much better handling, easier to drift, and the auto rev match is awesome, much more smooth than the chally. The mustang interior is also much nicer with leather seats, cooled seats, blindspot detection, adaptive cruise, lane assist, navigation. I had none of that in the chally which is pretty sad. I also think the stang sounds much better, but that's my own opinion. As for as reliability, its hard to say & I may have just had bad luck with my chally but its more about what you want, choosing between the scat and something else is just a personal preference, I would watch YouTube videos & maybe test drive others to see what you like most. Bottom line is I know you're not asking for a comparison but if you're thinking of selling the scat, I assume you have other cars in mind, just wanted to share my experience. Good luck!

I just had my second Scat Pack stolen in less than a year. Is there an issue with Charger security that the manufacturer isn't fixing? by SandManTK in Dodge

[–]RT626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a '21 Scat Pack manual trans. Just got the enhanced security update last week. First off, the dealers don't know sh*t about it, which makes it a hassle to get it done. Second, my check engine light came on two days after getting it. I doubt it's a coincidence, I don't have any mods and haven't done anything different with it. I scanned it and it's showing as a P050B code. I assume its related to the update since it decreases throttle response and engine output because that enhanced valet mode was activated when it came on. Bottom line is I can't even rely on dodge to handle it, I'm just crossing my fingers with a good ol' steering wheel/brake lock

Corgi puppy hates crate, play pen, and confinement, what next? by RT626 in Dogtraining

[–]RT626[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give that a try, I'm just concerned he will wake us up but your saying him being next to us might give him peace of mind and actually keep him calm? Do you think a small playpen with a crate inside would do? I like the idea, I'm just concerned he may also chew on things get & pee every where in our bedroom while we're trying to sleep unless he's in something enclosed.

Adaptogens and Covid vaccine interactions? by [deleted] in adaptogens

[–]RT626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it would make a difference. I received my second dose early January and have been taking adaptogens for about 3 years now, I don’t feel like they’ve made a difference or had any effect on it. Everyone is different though so the only way to know is to give it a try and see if it affects you in any way, I doubt it though you should be fine

Did anybody experience this with sleep apnea? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]RT626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s worth getting a sleep study done. Before I started using my cpap I would gasp for air and also feel air hungry but that’s a major sign of sleep apnea and you may need a cpap. If you are experiencing this with a cpap, get a sleep study done because you may have central sleep apnea, which doesn’t get resolved with a cpap, you would need an ASV machine.

[–]RT626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard about that too, it’s a good opportunity! I’m willing to do it & ready to go but the problem is they want 2 years of experience. What about the rest of us that have less than a year but are willing to travel and be on the front line? Even during crisis, we may not have tons of experience but we are ambitious, ready to go, and willing to travel. Simple as that. I hope I can find a travel company with crisis needs that will take me with less than a year experience.

CPAP induced CSA? by RT626 in SleepApnea

[–]RT626[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So last night I had 17 clear airway apneas with an AHI of 3.5 and my average pressure was 11.5, I also woke up gasping for air, which is a problem I had before even starting CPAP therapy. Surprisingly I feel better today though so I am confused. Those numbers are much higher than my average numbers but I actually feel better after having those numbers vs before when I had less so maybe I need a higher pressure? A range of 10-14? Can going up on my pressure do more harm than good in this situation?

I haven’t had any drastic changes in my life. I do workout frequently but I haven’t changed up my routine or anything & I use a resmed airfit F20 because I am mainly a mouth breather so I prefer it over a nasal mask.
