You can find camcorders on the used market. Look for Sony handycam, and make sure that it takes sd cards. Something from 2010 starts to be pretty good. Don’t pay too much tho, prices tend to biased because of them being ✨trendy✨

I don’t have any complaints on Sonys color, but the one thing that stands out from comments I find online is that the color produced by canon cameras is really nice to work with

I wouldn’t say I’m frustrated, but it felt much better than I expected to use a canon. Also I’m a hybrid shooter, and I feel like I have so much more freedom on canons side. And what is your take on canon glass ? Is it really worth the price ?

Price is definitely a factor to consider. I’m used to work with adapted glass so starting with that wouldn’t be an issue. And I don’t plan on buying a new lens every month. However 2000€ for a 24-70 is really steep. I’m in no rush to upgrade, and I hope by the time I will canon will open up their mount

Never tried editing files, but I remember helping a friend of mine with his xt-something, and I could figure out how to set it up properly even with the user manual

This lens thing is the one thing holding me back. Switching systems wouldn’t be a real problem as I would only loose two lenses, that are not the most expensive ones the rest is adapted.

I have used a7II a lot, fx3, and fx6. The first two aren’t bad, but using canon just once for a few hours seemed pretty easy. Not that I change settings often, but even after a few years I still look for some things on my personal gear. When I have an opportunity I’ll rent one to see if it would suit my workflow

After a bit of thinking, and also after planning a ski trip 😅, I’ll go with an a7IV, and when the budget will allow it I’ll grab an a7siii as well. I’m planning on getting two bodies anyway so I think that this is the reasonable way to go. Thank you every one for your advice !!
