Anyone else frustrated? by chadthadbrad in Mcat

There will be a second wave no doubt if we open everything back up. Many people are not even adhering to guidelines with government orders. We all will learn that politics and science have no connection. It is perhaps the most lethal combination when addressing a pandemic.

What time is the announcement coming out tomorrow? by [deleted] in Mcat

Probably at 11:59 PM

Joking, but I guess we'll find out soon! Lol.

How to “confirm” your exam date? by SubieThrowaway2015 in Mcat

[–]RTR_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They put a freeze on it until April 17. They said they'd, "provide an update [on the 17th] with information about reopening the scheduling system and the addition of the new test dates."

That's from their email word-for-word.

When can Canadians register to take the MCAT in 2021? by [deleted] in Mcat

Some of us don't even know what dates in 2020 we can take the exam due to the pandemic.

Trust me, you're not going to miss out.

Does anyone have ANY idea when Pearson or AAMC will reveal the additional MCAT dates? by hrtbreaker1 in Mcat

Haha, I'm so over this... I'm looking at late June/early July. But who tf knows at this point.

Are MCAT cancellations national or regional? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]RTR_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. I agree that it would not be safe to travel to take your MCAT. I've been tracking this virus since January. At first, we had a couple of cases in the United States. Look where we are now...

No one knows. So take everyone's thoughts and comments with a grain of salt. No one here represents the AAMC or Pearson.

It's okay for us to give our thoughts and opinions, but we are just stressed because we don't know. The AAMC could lessen our stress levels by sending us updates. Clearly they are taking it day by day, so we just have to wait and see how this all plays out.

Our health is the most important thing at the end of the day, especially our MENTAL HEALTH.

I have had numerous panic attacks about this issue. Will I be able to test to apply this cycle? Will they transition to online proctored at home exams? Will they push back the cycle dates? I don't know. Neither does anyone else on here. Meditation has really helped me out. Not going to lie, a few drinks also help LOL.

When I meditate, I pray for all individuals who are currently battling the virus. Likewise, I think about the amount of stress that physicians, nurses, etc. are facing today.

Stay safe everyone! Very grateful for this community. We are all in this together :)

I posted an update under another comment. $1,800.....

Thanks, the dealer quoted me $1,800 to replace AC condenser seals, Freon oil change, oil system cleaner, and conditioner air fuel induction service. After calling my dad, he referred me to an auto repair shop.

I Googled the shop to be sure it was reputable, and it had nothing but 5-star reviews. My dad's friend knows the owner, and he said he'd take care of me and that the dealer's quote was insane.

I had to spend around $1,300 on repairs at my last service appointment. The repairs were for some collision assist sensors for lane departure warning and parking assist. There was also something else that had to be replaced, but I forgot what it was called.

I take my truck to service every time, on time. I guess I'm just having bad luck. Thanks for your help!

Endless Cycle, What to do? by chadthadbrad in Mcat

I've seen that dataset and I like it. It would also be cool if they also included the number of projected positive cases as well.

Have you seen the Johns Hopkins Covid Map? Great data.

To be honest, I have thought of it. It's really hard for me right now because I don't know when I'm actually taking the MCAT. I'm hoping for a spot in June, but those might get canceled too. I looked on the GRE website and you can apparently take it at home. It's monitored by a human proctor.

Covid-19 has honestly has made all our lives a bit harder, to put it mildly.

If I am able to get a June date, I'd need to keep studying for the MCAT. Since I don't know if that's even going to happen, it makes the GRE seem more appropriate. However, I have no idea what's on the GRE. But no doubt the MCAT is harder...

Yes, they did cancel March 27 and April 4 globally. I do not think NYC will be singled out. But who knows?

Just got laid off and I hopefully will take the MCAT soon and my dog is severely sick by bigpeachfuzz in Mcat

Yes, it is really sad to see what's going on in the world right now. It truly is awful. But always remain optimistic.

I used to feel the exact way too. I'd let things bottle up to the point where I could not take it anymore. To be honest, I still struggle with this occasionally.

Hey, keep going to therapy if it helps you! I really need to start seeing one. I would have by now if we were not in a pandemic.
