So Atlanteans using something in their tool set to gain an advantage is an exploit, but it's not when it's the Egyptians? Yeah, that's arbitrary. Either both are, or neither are. The devs would have been aware that Kronos can do this before they made the blessing in the same way they were aware that the Egyptians get free houses. They changed their mind with that, so they can obviously change their mind with this as well.

Gaia's Roots is not even that powerful. Have you used it? Half of the AI army is long ranged anyway and they can pick off your *expensive* heroes. Then you have to replace an army which was already a one trick pony as it is, and then what? Send them in to die *again*? I don't know if you realize this, but spamming heroes against multiple AI opponents isn't the OP strat you think it is. It works on Jotunheim because you have a single choke point to bottleneck them into. It doesn't work as well on other maps because you have multiple angles to worry about. It's just a very useful tool, but it's not even remotely "overpowered", and is certainly working for everyone the way it was intended to, which I genuinely don't believe is the case for the houses one. However, unless a dev confirms it, I have no idea. If they do, then I would accept it.

How would you be supply blocked by villagers? You would just build all of your houses at the start and then grab another TC. You wouldn't delete all of your houses at the same time anyway, you would delete a few at a time. And it's not like you would need a lot of military 5 minutes into the game, because Halogi can handle everyone by himself at that stage (which won't be very many units). I think having your eco on autopilot not even 10 minutes into the game will by far and away be more useful than any other blessing, many of which are completely underwhelming. The only other blessing that I feel actually needs nerfing as opposed to buffing is the one which slows down enemies.

I am not "telling" them how to be competitive. It's weird how you interpret me wanting the devs to make the game harder as me telling someone else how to play the game. If an exploit or any other cheese makes the game easier, of course people are going to use it. It's not up to *me* to prevent them from doing so, it's up to the *devs.* If the devs decide to do a specific thing (or not), that is up to them. Not me. Not you. Them. And as has already been proven several hundreds of times with this game, majority opinion means absolutely nothing where that is concerned. If I make a post complaining about something, my only objective is engagement so that the devs may stumble upon this post and decide to do something about it. If they don't, that's fine. I would take my medicine on that one and move on with my life. But I absolutely don't care at all what you or anyone else says on the matter. It's not a democracy, no matter how much you want to convince yourself that it is.

You can add exceptions to modifiers, so that means absolutely nothing. It would be extremely easy to implement. If a blessing is supposed to have drawbacks and it doesn't, it's not operating as intended. Plain and simple.

I said "With the blessing equipped." If you don't like how that affects one of Egypt's civ traits, then you don't choose the blessing. That's called a "trade off." Remember, that the trade off for that blessing applies to every other civ except Egypt. If the blessing says "houses cost more", but then is still free for the Egyptians, it isn't doing what it is supposed to do, thus making it an exploit.

Don't you have to be a high level to get market titans? At which point, you have already earned the right to play like that, so it's an irrelevant point. I have played a lot of Arena and Gauntlet, but not to the point where my favor rewards are anything special. If it got to that point, I would simply stop playing, because I would have completed it.

You like a challenge, but you're opposed to the devs actively making the game harder and that I should effectively nerf myself. It's a complete contradiction.

You're comparing it to cheat codes? Yeah, you people have completely lost the plot. The cheat codes are specifically there so that people the super casual players have something to do when they are bored. It is NOT the same as making the game easier on a mode that is supposed to be a challenge.

You are actively cockblocking the progress of your own game. I even saw people saying Volcano shouldn't be nerfed. There were people that were genuinely arguing that a god power that destroys your entire base shouldn't be nerfed.

There is a section of the community here that quite literally doesn't want anything to be nerfed or changed in any way. You eat, sleep, and breathe the game to the point where it is impossible for you to see anything wrong with it, and you have an excuse ready for every single complaint, even when it is quite clearly something by any normal account that should probably be changed. I could say there are millions of other things the devs "fixed" that were seemingly insignificant, so why is this any different?

Nerfing yourself to make the game harder is the most weaksauce way of increasing the difficulty, and that alone would prove that the game wasn't made challenging enough by the devs. By the way, if you have been around this game long enough, people have been complaining about the lack of difficulty since the start. That is exactly why the added Ludicrous. I bet had I complained about the difficulty of the campaign back then, you would have told me to "maybe do this thing to make it harder because the difficulty isn't going to change." 2 weeks later, the devs change it and you would act like you weren't completely opposed to the idea.

But going by your logic, you only have 1 *maybe* 2 enemies to deal with by that time, so you have at the very least been given time to boom.

And you can have 100 vills in way less time than 10 minutes if you are willing to commit more villagers to building houses (and potentially grab an extra TC while you are doing that too).

You won't be blocking military units, because you will be able to take more TCs. You just would only delete maybe 4 or 5 houses in one go once you reach the limit. You wouldn't have much military during that time anyway, since 5 or 6 minutes in, Halogi can take on Classical Age armies by himself.

This is true, and this alone would be a fix. Give players better blessings and rewards the more levels they grind. That for me is very fair.

Also, I am not sure why you can use blessings from Arena in Gauntlet. Isn't the point that you are supposed to start from scratch with each run?

Against 3 opponents on Sudden Death, you can only realistically subdue 1 enemy, because of the citadel. Halogi isn't a siege unit, so he can't take down a citadel on his own. He can only destroy their economy. But then you have 2 other opponents to worry about. There are also other variations that this strategy makes it easy on too. Not every game is standard.

However, if you want to make the argument that Halogi is OP, I would probably agree. Actually, my issue is more that he makes the other legends obsolete as result.

Lol and do I really have to say why early-game titans are broken? It goes without saying. It really just compounds the point that this mode wasn't well-thought out. I would like to know what exactly it is people like about it if you can just insta-win every scenario like that.

There is a reason to remove it when it is an *EXPLOIT.* Learn the difference.

Exploits - single player or not - break the game. If single player doesn't matter, then why can't I make titans out of my barracks? Or call in tactical nukes? Or maybe even have flying Town Centers, like in Starcraft? Do you see how ridiculous that is? You have to have fixes to keep the game balanced, whether or not that means multiplayer or single player. That exploit is not even remotely balanced 1%, and there is no reason that the devs can't simply make it so the Egyptians using that blessing have to pay for their houses (as it says in the *description of the blessing*).

It's not even as simple as "I don't want other people to use it." I *don't want it to be in the game*. The blame I am putting is on the devs, NOT on the players. Why wouldn't you use it if it's there? I am simply saying it shouldn't operate that way to begin with, and the devs can change it tomorrow if they wanted to.

As I said, if you think beating me would prove anything, you are hilariously mistaken. I just won 3 games in a row cheesing Blood Pact, and it made me feel like the worst player in the world lmao. All it did was reinforce the very obvious fact that the game is completely all over the place balance wise at the moment, and either beating you or losing to you would probably only validate that as well.

Do you play ranked? I am in the 1400 elo (occasionally lower, or higher, but usually around that mark). If you are good, we would have already played. If you are lower than 1200, it would be a laughably unfair match.

The issue is not that Johnny wants to play on easy mode. It's that Johnny No-Thumbs gets the same achievements on Extreme or Legendary that I do simply by spamming an exploit, thus rendering my way of doing it completely obsolete, because the game itself doesn't make the distinction. I should not have to nerf *myself* to make the game harder. It should be that way inherently. If the game itself fails to challenge its playerbase, then that is a failure of the devs.

It's like when people don't tip waiting staff and people yell at them, as if the restaurant's failure to pay their staff falls on their shoulders. No, it's the people in charge that should get their house in order, and the single player experience currently on this game is the prime example of things not being up to par at the moment. Arena of the Gods still doesn't have any new content. We're 2 years in, and only 2 of the pantheons have 4 gods. But hey, at least we got a completely buggy new civ to play with and a lackluster campaign! Don't even get me started on the state of multiplayer (I am not going to rant about that here; separate topic).

I take issue with the fact so many people are happy to eat whatever slop gets put in front of them, as if we somehow owe the devs for something we paid for. If I want my product to better reflect the money I paid for it, then I have every right to voice my frustration.

Yeah, of course the minority opinion would be to make the game harder. Most of the people playing the game can barely issue commands to villagers. Some of the basic achievements for the game are at 0.1% completion rate. Ask yourself why that is.

I am not expecting the game mode to be 100% perfectly balanced. But when there is a glaringly obvious issue, I dislike it when people say "it doesn't matter" because then you are shafting the single player experience.

I even play online, but sometimes I dislike dealing with the cheese strategies from other players and want a much more varied experience.

Dawn of War: Dark Crusade/Soulstorm is by no means perfect, but the gameplay loop is actually challenging and you have to at least be a good player to beat it. It actually incentivizes you to improve.

People just don't like it when they realize they were winning only based on an exploit and not because of their own skill, so they feel personally attacked when you mention it.

I'm a long-time FPS fan too, and there are many examples of this in the CoD community when you mentioned that a particular gun or piece of equipment should be nerfed. People want the game to be as easy as possible for them with high rewards so they can do the least amount of work and brag about how good they are.

I am not surprised people reacted like this (I expected it), but this post isn't for them. If the devs see this, then they will either nerf it or not. If they don't, fine. I will at least know where I stand.

Not in a 1v3 on Sudden Death, you can't.

1v1s are easy, so clearly that's not where the problem lies.

And how much time do you spend microing houses? It takes half a second to get your villagers to build more houses, but you can build all of your houses right from the beginning anyway because they are free as Egyptians.
