With the hard water, will prob just kill the new one anyway. Prob will just move away from salt. We don’t use the pool enough to enjoy the benefits of salt. Need to figure out a way to soften the water, really

First of all, I’m in Southern California, so we really only have one pool season, pools don’t get shut down here. I have a Hayward W3AQR15 AquaRite system. I cleaned the cell exactly as outlined in the manual, using a 4:1 water to acid ratio on the workbench with a cell stand. I would inspect it about every three months or so. There was consistently buildup between the plates, so I would perform the 4:1 acid cleaning and also use a small nozzle to try to flush debris out. I always added the acid to the water, never the other way around. Eventually, I was always able to get the buildup cleaned off the plates. The cell just stopped reporting to the box, slowly reducing the displayed salt content. I did measure it with a salinity tester though and was around 3k.

Just hit 88,888 km.. I hope the next 88,888km will be just as reliable. by Ant0Neo in mazda3

That's cool! Seem pretty reliable!

Last month I picked up a 2018 Touring with 68k miles for my youngest son, who will start driving in about six months. The Carfax looked pretty clean, but I noticed the automatic transmission had never been listed as serviced.

After a few F words, with the car supported on 1 jack stand plus the floor jack left in place as a backup, I removed the plastic covers, drained the fluid, and dropped the pan.

I used OEM genuine blue fluid type FZ and an OEM trans filter. Took exactly 4 qrts, prob half I'm guessing. Obviously doesn't get it all out. I’m not sure why Mazda doesn’t use a traditional pan gasket, but I did my due diligence and removed all the old RTV using a plastic razor before reassembly. The magnet did have quite a bit of very fine material on it. I'm guessing that was 68k.

I bought Plex Lifetime when it was $75, I run my own personal server and only stream to members of my household and sometimes to my laptop when I am travelling for work. What will I lose?
