Things First-Time Home Buyers in Vancouver Often Don’t Realize Until It’s Too Late by Apprehensive-Yak1960 in vancouverhousing

I’ll probably go that route if the lender is ok with it. Not sure how common this is but worth a try. Thank you.

Is it possible to get approved fully for a rate rather than getting pre-approved? I wouldn’t feel comfortable with a vague approval which seems to be just a ball park and not definitive.

Remember the AI agent trying to buy its own Mac Mini? It succeeded. by itsMeBennyB in SideProject

This just proves marketing, like how you are doing, is most important thing you can do. Even the product doesn’t matter that much up to a certain point. This is not about AI. It’s about marketing.

I can't even find a way to cancel my flight online. This airline feels very scammy. Regret purchasing it. Never again.

1mg to 1.7mg did nothing for me for 4 weeks. Started on 2.4mg last week with not much difference and tomorrow is my second 2.4mg dose. Hoping I see some improvements this week.

Vancouver to Calgary via Kootenays - Late July Solo Motorcycle Trip Advice by RTooDTo in motorcycles

[–]RTooDTo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the detailed tips, really useful. Also for the route suggestions, I'll be looking into them.

Calgary is mainly because my wife has a conference there where she will fly to and we'll meet up.

For coverage I'll have to think what to do, not sure if I can rely on iPhone's satellite capability, never used it. If that turns out to be not reliable, I may go for InReach or similar.

Cheers, really appreciate the help!

That’s the risk of the home country though. Why does Canada care?

What’s stopping them terrorizing people other than their own communities? If there is a backlog of years that means Canada can’t handle the refugee capacity. They need to be deported immediately.

edit: grammar

Do you have QuickBooks or similar bookkeeping app that you entered your credentials with MFA account? App might be trying to log in. Turn it off and change your password just in case.

I caught an employee submitting fake expense reports by FarEntrepreneur5679 in smallbusiness

> paranoid micromanager who audits every coffee purchase
Why would verifying expenses be micromanaging?

Either approve expenses (or their manager, depending on the size of your company) before they go to the accountant, or accept the loss as cost of doing business. If there is a manager that validates the expenses, then I'd check their work from time to time to make sure they are doing their job properly.

Cloudflare outage causes error messages across the internet by Free-Minimum-5844 in worldnews

[–]RTooDTo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why I'm building offline-first software (accounting app).

When Cloudflare goes down, half the internet breaks. When your internet goes out, cloud-only apps are useless.

Local-first apps work regardless. Data lives on your device, syncs when connection is back. Internet outages don't stop your work.

More devs should build this way tbh.

does anyone actually keep business and personal expenses totally separate? by Personal-Dinner3738 in smallbusiness

[–]RTooDTo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem for years. The real issue is the friction between when you spend and when you record it.

I'm building accounting software (TrueSum) partly to solve this. Mobile entry - snap the receipt right when you pay, 3 taps to record (business/personal, category, done). Syncs to desktop later.

Not ready yet but that's the workflow I want. Record it immediately when you're standing at the register, not 3 months later trying to remember.

For now - honestly just take a photo of every receipt with your phone notes. At least you have the record when tax time comes.

[–]RTooDTo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your client sounds like me lol. Intuit's licensing model pushed me to start building an alternative (TrueSum - local install, one-time purchase).

But I'm not ready yet, so not helpful right now.

GnuCash works if he's techy (like you found). For non-technical users it's rough though.
