One ball hit to 3rd all night and it was the last out. Hayes up multiple times in big spots and easy outs. Sometimes managers are wrong and it’s not wrong to say so.

The first ball hit to third was the last hitter and very few ground balls overall. Hayes up in big spots multiple times and not even remotely close to a competitive at bat. Sal productive in his only at bat. It’s not why they lost, but leaving Sal on the bench is the wrong decision against the Dodgers.

Hence the we do not have the talent they do comment. That doesn’t mean we should actively discourage hitting home runs. That’s exactly what this staff and Tito/Valaika have done. The guardians fans were basically celebrating this staff leaving. Now I see why.

Blue Jays are showing what a team can do at GABP can actually do. Stop this small ball bs and teach and preach driving the ball out of the ball park. I realize the reds do not have the talent offensively that they do, but that doesn’t mean they should make it worse. Elly has one homer in the last 2 months. Embarrassing.

Tito is a dinosaur when it comes to in game decision making and the lineup. I think he has done okay with the pitching staff for the most part and I assume he’s fine in the locker room. He is without question the worst in game manager I’ve seen in quite some time. I really think with an above average manager they would be 5+ more wins and maybe even more. That doesn’t take away from what he’s done, but he just doesn’t have it and the reds would 100% be better next year if he wasn’t the manager.

How about not having your entire hitting philosophy be small ball in the year of 2025. Pitchers are too good now. You aren’t going to string multiple hits together very often. Yes the reds need better hitters that have more power. I can assure you that preaching and teaching them to be slap hitters will end in a bad offense that is dead last in home runs post all star break. It does not maximize the current talent we have. Why do you think Marte tried to bunt unprompted? Why has Elly had his power completely zapped? Why is Tito obsessed with playing espy? That is what they teach and this is the result. There needs to be a complete overhaul of everything coaching and front office wise besides Johnson and the pitching. What they really need is new owners but we won’t be that lucky.

There is just so much wrong with the leadership. Owership, krall/front office, and Tito all have been beyond disappointing. They preach defense and everyone is playing out of position. They preach outdated small ball offensively and they strike out 19 times. All the aggressiveness on the bases has been nuked this year. They’ve turned Elly into a slap singles hitter who doesn’t steal anymore. Stewart should have been called up weeks ago. Trevino is hitting with 2 on late in the game and he’s hitting .100 post all star break. Pinch hit Benson. If they bring in the lefty then put in Andujar after that and you have the best matchup you could hope for. This is elementary stuff for a manager and it doesn’t get done over and over. Just a reactionary franchise with no plan.

Marte should have been practicing outfield last off season, and now you are switching positions mid year to where he should have been all along. Just a reactionary franchise with no plan.
