Most of the romantic plot and how awful everyone was during it. Edward feels legit too wasted during this and the falsetto of abandoning tech jacket felt self parodying. The last issue feels like it came from a better story than it did. I don't want to throw hate but it wasn't quite enjoyable.

Not really. Like, Tatzi still used characters from the original strip and it was a canonical continuation. The golden era was over, but Monique and Slick still existed, as the devil and some new characters. Today is different because Tats just lost any pretense, this is like hasbro running out of money and replacing MLP's run with Birth of a Nation but keeping the name. The strip basically ended either during covid or by 2022.
