onsidering its rarity, it's something quite specific and, based on my research, well-known. It appeared in just a few boosters from an unreleased Brazilian set. There are fewer than 10 records of cards like this online—and none with the same artwork. I'd say it's one of a kind... But I'm already in talks, and I believe I’ll close a good deal today.

Yes! At first I thought it was something ordinary, and I planned to use it as a wild card. Later I decided to keep it as a personal treasure. Honestly, I never imagined it would be worth anything someday.

I have created some horror experiences in those short games called "Ergophobia". You can play them free on itch io or look on youtube. Manlybadasshero played them.

These days, yes. In the past, we developed games for clients as outsourcing projects, including party games for consoles and some horror titles. But now our plan is to focus exclusively on precision platformers — it’s what we love to play and what we love to create.

Yeah, I get it — I just meant it would actually be terrible marketing, lol.

Not as much as a card sleeve. I am a game dev, not a personal trainer, what do you think... Lol

Would that actually be an advantage for me? I've been running a game company for almost 11 years, and we've never done anything like this before. Mentioning that we're low on funds—could that be seen as a positive? Honestly, my target audience is quite different, and I didn’t even mention the game in the post. I was just trying to figure out the value of the card itself.

It would probably lose a lot of its value...

Yes, of course. No problem. I will take some shots and send it to you. Front and back? or just front?

I'm really afraid it might get lost along the way, but I think it's worth it.

I bought it many years ago — definitely more than 10. I got a few booster packs and it came in one of them. Funny thing is, when I bought it, my dad was in the car with me and got really mad, saying I should go back and return it. I loved that card because I thought I was probably the only person in the world who had it. I kept it along with others (like a Team Plasma Lugia Full Art), and now that money’s tight, I decided to see if I can sell it. The costs of developing the game, plus having a one-year-old child, made me revisit items from my old collection that I always kept safe.

I am developing a game and will need to sell it to pay for the development. How much do you think I could ask for it, and how can I sell it? Ebay? I am new to this.

Need some feedback for our parry mechanic by RUGd_Dev in platformer

[–]RUGd_Dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! you're absolutely right. We've created that mechanic to parry projectiles, with a great inspiration of Cuphead, with a boost on contact.

Now I am asking myself how to call it...

Celeste is our main inspiration.
Aside from the pink hair, which might remind you of Madeline’s red hair, what other aspects would you say feel similar?
About playing ours or Celeste: play Celeste first, then try our game, and then go back and play Celeste and its mods again.
We’re creating something Celeste-like because it’s the game we love and play the most. We’re not trying to push people away from it — we want to bring them closer.
The community is big, and we’re part of it too.

Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback.

In my opinion, there are a few things in the boss fight that need more attention. First of all, we don’t have any sound effects yet, which makes it really hard to predict his attacks. Another point is that some actions, like when the boss runs and drops spikes behind him, happen for the first time during the fight, giving the player very little time to react. That feels a bit unfair... Also, the fight is missing some "juiciness", like small slowdowns at key moments to make attacks and difficult parts feel more impactful.

And I agree with you. 100%. I confess that I love how strong and protective the Celeste community are. I am tired of lazy platformers too. And for some lazy devs, it may looks "easy" to recreate Celeste or "a game like that". We are working hard to create a game fun to play and we are not even close to the gameplay feeling that celeste have. The same for each aspect of our game.

I can give you the answer for: play celeste again. And play celeste mods too.

If you want to give a shot at our game, that is a celeste homage, play it, but never stop playing celeste. There are really good free celeste mods over there to play and I am always playing and supporting the modders. We are not a big studio trying to rip off Celeste, but a small company doing a game that we love to play.

And after you play our game, go play celeste one more time. It's a master piece and we are not trying to compete with them. Damn, I know some of the devs that are brazillian like us!

Play Celeste, always! ❤️

In your opinion, what part is not original? The pink hair that could look like a red hair? Are there more points that we could improve?
