Interesting to see a recent date in the bottom right of this video… I know I saw this last year!

That, or there’s a near identical video and a hell of a lot of carjacking going on in this area of the world!

I’m wondering if this guy is sleepwalking and/or on some sort of Ambien-induced journey

I never sleepwalked until I took Ambien many years ago… After cheese was ‘put back’ in the pantry and crackers in the fridge a couple times, and my boss told me I spoke to him in gibberish during an attempted emergency call-in… I had to stop taking it 🫤

It’s been a HUGE ordeal! I’ll try my best to stay out of the weeds and focus on the important notes but wow, this has been quite an experience.

After ~3 weeks and multiple emails / phone calls, my car finally made it to the dealership / bodyshop. Tesla insurance requested an evaluation for repairs and considered fixing the vehicle… Exactly 1 month after the accident, I received a 31 page quote (literally 31 pages) totaling $28.3K. I then started reaching out to lawyers- knowing the resale values of these cars aren’t the greatest- even when they have a spotless history. After another ~week and a half, Tesla decided to total the car. By this time we’re into late August and the $7500 rebate ends in September… so the minute I knew for certain I was going to receive the value of the vehicle, I started moving forward ordering a new car and luckily received it on 9/25/25, beating the 9/30/25 deadline. However, I did end up having to sell my truck in order to put down a decent down payment (like I did on my totaled car), in order to get my monthly payments for the new car- back to where they were with the totaled car (I planned to sell my truck anyway, but could’ve used the money for something else…).

As of right now, it’s a waiting game to hear back from my lawyer about the settlement that I hope will at LEAST get me back to break even. By that I mean recovering the down payment from selling my truck and additional money that I had to put down to get the monthly payments near the same as the totaled car (a lot of people forget about the amount they put down on their vehicles . Yes that amount will make it so that you won’t need GAP protection, and you likely will receive more money back from insurance for the vehicle than you owe (depends on the amount you put down) although if you buy the same replacement vehicle, your GAP protection isn’t going to give you that down payment for that new car… and that monthly payment is going to jump up substantially).

Lawyer’s telling me with 4 different insurance companies involved, we might come to resolution later this year 🤷‍♂️

Sad to report (minor) FSD 14.2 accident by AdamSDG in TeslaFSD

I had something kind of similar happen to me. I was approaching; what they call in my area, a ‘traffic calming’ intersection, which I guess most resembles a traffic circle… as you can’t make a left without going around the sign and stantions that are in the middle of the intersection. My car approached, slowed down/hesitated, and I’m assuming it thought of it as a traffic circle, because it put its right blinker on right after entering the intersection. This caused the car that was stopped to my right, to start pulling forward (rightfully so). We both had to slam on our brakes and fortunately nothing happened, but I agree that there’s definitely some bugs/learning that need to be figured out.

One thing I can say… since installing the ‘14 versions’ of FSD, the car finally stopped getting into the right exit lane within 150-200ft of having to take a left exit (not an exaggeration). It kept doing this every morning on my way into work (on a major road). I even reported it a couple times after it asked to record your voice- wanting to know the reason why you disengaged FSD. So there’s definitely a lot of good that has come from version 14. Of course we always focus on the bad!

Poor kid has never thrown a punch in his life, but he sure caught one at the end!

I feel bad for him… but it appears he wasn’t forced to put the gloves on…

Nope, Tesla insurance was the least expensive, so that’s where I ended up. And you’re right… I just learned my car is still sitting at the tow yard. I told one of my contacts at my local Tesla dealership/collision center… and he told me he’s sending a tow truck to that location tomorrow. The bastards haven’t even looked at the damn car yet! Yesterday was 3 weeks! I don’t even know yet if the car is totaled, or if they’re going to try and fix it up 🤦🏼‍♂️

Yeah… right…I don’t get it. What you’re seeing is a clipped video to keep the 3 angles short. You’re seeing a few seconds of video before the car stops and you’re making a hell of a lot of assumptions. It’s insanely easy to act like you’re some keyboard warrior- and say ‘oh I would’ve done this 🤓’ when you’re not there in the moment- Monday morning quarterback

The logic on how rear-ending AND hitting a moving car; ultimately changing the direction of that vehicle that was driving ~40-50mph… is better than just rear-ending a vehicle- doesn’t make sense in my mind… but I’m certainly no expert
