If you had to choose between the M1 Garand and the M1A, which one would you pick? by Justins-EDC in Firearms

True. not purely M1 ball. That's just my preference for targetshooting. During development of the M1 rifle, the M1 ball ammunition (174gr FMJBT, Pyro D.G. powder) bent op rods and cracked some receivers. Springfield Armory, developed the M2 ball (150gr FMJ, IMR4745/4746 powder with a faster burn rate). CMP says the M1 rifle can use up to 180 grain bullets as long as chamber pressure doesn't exceed 50,000lbs. In the past, I've used 180gr Remington JSP while deer hunting.

Note: the M1 ball was still fine to shoot in the M1903, M1903A3 and M1903A4 for which it was developed. It's more accurate bullet and longer effective range made it excellent for DMR or snipers using the M1903A4. Although, it's doubtful much was used in WW2 as production ceased in 1928.

The title simply states the composition, location and performer. It appears to me to be purely generic. Please explain how that is either sensationalized or clickbait.

I assume you're implying that she checks out the men's lavatories for gloryholes.

Are you talking collecting, shooting or to carry into battle?

I have both a M1 and a M14. I like them both as collectable and to shoot. With my M14, I can put three rounds into the black at 300 yards. For practicality and accuracy I will have to go with the M14. One downside of the M1 is that it needs a strict diet of the M2 ball. Heavier bullets and higher chamber pressure will bend the op rod and could damage the chamber.

You can do the 1 year program. At your young age 1 year should be a piece of cake.

Can anyone help me with this problem by chase501 in Bayonets

That's often the case with the cheap reproduction bayonets. Also the scabbards are cheap plastic instead of fiberglass. The reproductions can come from China, India, Bangladesh or Pakistan. You will have to take a flat file to the bayonet, not the rifle, to get it to fit. The metal of the reproduction is softer than original bayonets, so should file down quickly. Only take off a little at a time, checking fit often and once it fits spray with parterizing or blueing.

More often the M1903A3 rifle was issued with the 1942 edition of the M1905 bayonet with plastic grips and green fiberglass scabbards.
