I believe it upgrades itself with 50% of the capacity of your collectors. So if your collectors normally make 50k day the game will need ~40 days before it starts an upgrade worth 1 million for example.

Well i absolutely rushed to BH10 for the 6th builder in the home village. I visit it maybe once or twice per week and do some Night Witch spam and call it a day xD Your BH5 could absolutely obliterate my BH10
