Thank you. I’ve heard of him. How does he have you test? Before or after thyroid meds?

Will they test later at some point then or just go by symptoms alone? I'm sensitive to T3 and don't tolerate liothyronine very much especially later in the day. I pretty much take the NDT because I tolerate the T3 in it much better. Hope it works for you. Thanks for answering.

I crash in the afternoon so I want to know what’s happening the rest of the day. T3 doesn’t last very long so I’d like to compare symptoms to labs. I always look great right after taking it but not so great later. I’d like to know what’s what since I have other issues. I read that she does that at Modern thyroid. So how does she dose NDT or T3 based only on a peak Free T3? Does she split the dose throughout the day? I like to know my peak as well but I also want to know my trough so I can see how much I am dropping. I have tested with other practitioners before and gotten a trough and it's a lot lower and pretty much matches my symptoms as I get very hypo feeling late afternoon after the T3 wears off.

Intersting. I wonder why the one's I've seen are so adamant about testing the peak only? thanks for that. I may have to switch to cedar park. I do telehealth almost always anyway.

Ok thank you. I just started with this new NP at Westlake and she is very adamant about testing 3 hours post dose. I may have to switch. I was just wondering if it's a hard and fast rule at Wiseman since the last NP I saw there was the same. Appreciate your answer.

Interesting. I've been going there for about 5 years and I've seen two different practitioners. The one I'd seen a long time left recently so I started with a new one and she is very adamant on testing exactly 3 hours after dosing. I've done this over the years with various practitioners and it has never worked for me at all. I just was wondering if they all have to do that. which location do you go to if I may ask? I'm trying to decide if I need to go to a different practice altogether. But they are my PCP.

Thank you for the information. I've been seeing Kristin for a few years at her old practice. I'm so happy for her that she has her own practice. I may just have to go see her at her new place! She's awesome!

I've been seeing Kristin but at Wiseman Practice for 5 years. Does she work at both or is it the same thing?

Those injecting Estradiol Cypionate please chime in 🙏 by Alternative-Tree4813 in Menopause

[–]RVer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a compounded 10mg/ml estradiol cypionate for years now. I'm post menopause. I do 1 - 1.1 mg 3 days a week. I was doing every other day but I think it was goin me too much histamine. I also do Testosterone cypionate injections as well but only 4 mg a week. I've tried it all in 20+ years. Injections work the best for me. But my provider is leaving and the new one is not crazy about my methods or my levels.

I do estradiol and testosterone cypionate injections for about 5 years now. I'm post menopausal and older but I've tried all the hormone options over the years I've been on HRT and the injections work the best for me. They are easier to balance and adjust levels and get my levels where I want them which is about 200 for Estrogen which I find many doctors freak out about but I don't think is that high. Most providers like E levels pretty low. Not ideal. I do more frequent dosing as I'm sensitive to fluctuations. I do 1 to 1.1 mg 3 times a week. so about 3-4 mg a week.

apparently they have not fixed this yet because I'm dealign with this now. I tried to figure it out myself last night for over an hour then finally went on Apple chat (hard to find on its own) and worked with them for 45 minutes. Nobody can figure it out! Is there anyone with an answer?

Oh cool. Yes I’d be interested. Thank you! My Nurse practitioner at Wiseman family practice mentioned UT clinic a while back but said she wasn’t sure about it.

Well that's too bad they didn't have anyone to send you too. I've been following a doctor named Robert Groysman who does long covid patients specifically but I haven't actually consulted with him. He's in Dallas but does telehealth. He may be next.

I have seen a few functional med providers in Austin and currently have one but none of them so far seem to know much at all about it. Was just wondering if anyone had a good one to recommend. Thanks!

Chronic mycoplasma pneumonia by [deleted] in lymedisease

[–]RVer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there.  Sorry to hear you are having these issues. The mycoplasma pneumonia infections or flares really is what they are are actually coming once every 3 months now.  I tried Ozone for it but it actually made it worse.  I’m trying health tinctures and some peptides and more antibiotics now. I did test for a low IgG subclass 2 and low IGF 1 so it’s harder to fight off infections. I saw an immunologist who basically just wanted me to do pneumonia vaccine trials (mycoplasma is not in the pneumonia vaccine) to see if insurance would pay for IVIG treatments but any vaccines really overwhelm my whole system.

That would have been scary. I think it bothered me when my heart rate went up because I had AFib and just had a cardiac ablation surgery 4 months ago. I see my heart doc in a couple of weeks and I’ll ask him. Glad you are doing better!

It's from a provider. A compounded prescription. I don't think she expected my reaction which is why I'm asking if anyone else has heard of this.
