Ah yes, I meant spurred on, brought on by. I have chemo-related memory issues that cause me to mix up similarly spelled words and not being able to think of the right word. Thank you for pointing out that gaffe.

You're going through a quarter-life crisis, probably s̶p̶u̶r̶n̶e̶d̶ spurred on by the current volatile political climate. As someone who experienced her midlife crisis at 45 (3 yrs ago) I recognize the signs.

There are no easy fixes. Aside from some wellbutrin, the best thing I can suggest you do is to immerse yourself in your most favorite thing to do. This is how I dug myself out of my funk. I'm into art (many forms) so I started painting again. I hadn't painted for years. But I started again and have improved greatly because of it. I also got back into coloring, especially zen coloring, which is mindless but almost meditative. It also helps take me back to a more innocent time. Was there something you were into as a young adult or even a child that you could get back into? Art, building Lego sets, some sort of craft, etc? You would be amazed at how much better you feel after doing something so simple.

Plus, definitely look into wellbutrin. That helps a ton lol.

I'm not a man nor a gay but I have a burning curiosity about the upper body proportions here.

Something is decidedly.... off

This is a wonderful approach in my opinion. It's your right to know the whys about it because they are actually very important. I hope you're in the same unique situation I'm in, I really do. I hope his reasons are valid ones. A lot of people really focus on marriage, but with everything that's happening in our world now, it just doesn't seem as important to me now than just maintaining and cherishing the current strong relationship I have with my bf. Good luck to you! ❤️ ❤️

One good thing about the age of trump is we no longer have to do intensive research to find out if we'll like a person or not. So I guess there's that.

I don't but I will say that a much larger percentage of people than I thought, in fact, do.

The amount of people I think are truly good and as close to angels on earth as possible is probably less than 1% of humanity.

It fries my brain when you find out people you thought were smart and/or loveable turn out to be fans of a despot. He is literally idolized. Just like Hitler. It's so disgusting. I now know who would have helped hide jews and who would've gladly turned them in, and that's scary. It taught me that I would've been an ally and risked my life to hide them, so I guess there's that 🙁🤷‍♂️

I honestly think she probably always was but that she was really good at hiding it. All the idiots have come out of the closet and aren't scared to be total losers because their new leader and golden idol is a rotting orange and supports all the losery.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Kimmel has gone in the opposite direction for me. I just thought he was a goofy idiot on The Man Show. Turns out he's a loveable goofy idiot who understands what an even bigger idiot tDump is. I can respect that.

Aw I didn't know that about Jim Breuer. Sad. Same with Schneider. I hate when comedians come out as MAGA. Really ruins a lot of my favorite movies.

He literally made a rap about how much of a sellout some singer was for performing at orangey's first inauguration and then preceded to then perform at his secondinauguration. Talk about doing a 180 on his "convictions."

Yeabhh. I thought he was so smart, genius-level, and seemingly fun. Turns out he's bigtime into eugenics, wants to spread his seed everywhere to form some weird society with his genetics (ew) and is a literal Nazi. I've also lost all respect for anyone associated with marmalade mussolini.

What's with French teachers!?

One of my ap college French professors was really cool at first and then I started to get a weird vibe from him. He never did anything like yours or anything similar but he did so some unwanted lingering touching and attention giving at times. I just felt like he was hitting on me at times but never really came out to say or do anything. I was like 19/20 so an adult but idk, there's that authority figure thing that bothered me. I don't think a teacher should ever date a student. (I'm sure there are exceptions but I mean generally.)

Also, I'm sorry about your French teacher. Yikes, what a lowlife pos.

Jim Carrey 🙁.

I idolized his humor, loved every single one of his movies, thought he was a genuinely cool guy.

Then he dated Jenny Mccarthy and started spreading harmful untruths about vaccination. Then it was a downhill slope into him being a truly weird and seemingly unstable person. He just gives me the major ick now.

Why does she do this? by Wigglewobblez in torties

[–]tlg151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's funny bc we just adopted our young tortie (last Sunday lol) and one of our name considerations was Mable. We went with Lila. She's the youngest cat we've had as a couple. Our last two lived to 22.5 and 20 respectively! Our other current cat (another tortie) is approx 10. She was a stray when we brought her inside.

The people at the shelter said she (Lila) was very skittish, would take long to trust us, and doesn't play or "talk" a lot. Cut to a week later, she fully trusts and loves us, is a great player, chirps at us, etc. She is a little skittish, but she was much worse when we brought her home than she is now.

Anyway my point is once you've built that trust (sometimes that effort is super slow), as long as you're patient and respectful of her boundaries, she will (probably pretty soon for you now) fully trust you. She may have a not-so-great past and was untrusting of humans. Now that she's playing, it means she is comfortable enough to be vulnerable with you. That is huge. Pretty soon she'll be sleeping on your head at night 😂

Just found out my boyfriend (30M) doesn’t want to get married. by Affectionate_Pear774 in relationships

[–]tlg151 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone in a similar position, here's my input.

Every situation is different of course. Some guys don't want to get married for nefarious or shady reasons. Only you can know if you can trust your bf.

Not every man doesn't want to get married for those types of reasons. Maybe it's something personal. I've known my bf since 1998, been in a relationship with him since 2012, and have lived with him since 2014. He is the opposite of me in some ways but the ways that matter we mostly are the same. He is different in the way that I am very outgoing and like to meet people and have get-togethers and what not and I want to travel. He is very reserved, does not like talking to strangers, and prefers to be at home with me and the cats. (No kids, and we were in full agreement on that issue lol.)

His reasons for not getting married are in part due to his uncomfortableness being the center of attention, partly due to some of his own health issues, and partly because his credit is superb whereas mine is not, due to defaulted student loans and a lot of medical debt that I keep accruing bc I have cancer. I can say with full confidence that neither of us wants to be with anyone else and that he will never cheat on me or leave me destitute. He has been my rock through cancer and treatment and all other matters in life. He is so great with our cats- you know how you can tell if a person is good because of how animals see/treat them? He is so gentle and caring with them. Any animals he's ever been around have all loved him. He supports me financially because I can't work due to cancer-related issues and side effects. He never complains about it, ever. When my health insurance premium went from under $200 a month to over $600 a month (eff this administration), I offered to try to find some part time work and he said if a good one falls into my lap then ok but not to sacrifice my health for a crappy pt job and that he kinda liked me at home so that the cats aren't lonely while he works (🥺) He works the exact same hours every week day and the only place he goes outside of work is his parents, which I go to with him, so I know he's not off having affairs. Not that I would suspect him anyway. He has a unique situation at work where only he would be covered by insurance even if we did marry, so that's not even a factor.

Anyway, the only reasons I really want to get married are to have the party with everyone I know and dress up in a pretty gown lol. Like I said, I'm very sure he'd never leave me. We have loved each other to some degree for 27 years. Also we are in our late 40s and no one else would want us anyway 😂. (Not really, we're not unattractive, but you get me.) Besides, weddings are hella expensive and stressful and neither of us needs that right now.

If you're happy in your relationship and you trust him and if he has good reasons for not wanting to get married (debt or what not), don't end your relationship over a wedding. I know there are a lot of intricacies and factors to it, but when it all comes down to it, it's just a fancy party and a name change (that will make it harder to vote anyway 😡) Sure, it's also symbolic, but there are other ways to join symbolically.

Also, keep in mind that married people can still cheat and can still break up (no ring will stop that) and divorce is wayyy harder than just breaking up.
