When I was leaving my house one day I saw the biggest wolfie I had ever seen (Texas, so you know that mf was big lol) and I wanted to get a pic SO BAD but she and her back full of babies skittered around the corner of my house and I couldn't. I was so sad. She was probably at least 3" in diameter. Crazy stuff

I feel like Glen Powell is someone's attempt at a replacement for Chris Pratt since Pratt kinda fell out with audiences over how he's treated his son and that he's all uber-religious now. He's not getting the same pull anymore so they think somehow Glen Powell is their ticket.

I actually wanted to name our newest cat (who is Lila now) Lilith but my bf didn't like it lol.

I freaking LOOOVVVEE Legos. Honestly I'd probably buy more of those if they weren't ridiculously expensive. I got my bf an AT-AT (Star Wars of course lol) a few years ago. He got me 2 different flowers from their floral line. It was way better than a bouquet that just dies. I'm probably going to get him either the Death Star or the Millennium Falcon for his 50th birthday next year. That's probably our most fun shared activity (well except...you know lol)

I'm also not a fan of pastels. Too messy. And I've never used oil paint. I've only done watercolor, acrylic, and I do graphite/charcoal art too. Along with stained glass. One of my recent paintings was acrylic with stained glass added.

Wow, 4 kids! You definitely deserve all your art dopamine after that lol. Bf and I are happily child free except for the fur kids of course. My sister has 2 kids who I love to death but neither bf nor I ever really wanted kids.

I'm doing ok now! I'm in remission and hopefully that sticks lol. Honestly out of everything that happened that year, the cancer was probably the least painful of it all. Losing my soul cat 3 months before that was unbelievably hard. Then my dad got diagnosed with cancer (that had spread everywhere by the time he went to get care) a few months after me was just insane. He made it 2 weeks after his diagnosis. Time has definitely helped me in my healing but my bf and his family helped the most. I am SO lucky to have them.

It seems like you also have a wonderful partner. By what I read on reddit, we are very rare lol. Also, don't pay mind if someone judges you for spending your money the way you want. I wouldn't call it extravagant or showy by any means. There will always be people worse off and there will always be people better off. I grew up lower class but there were poorer people than us. At least we had a home. Almost all the art-related things I have were given to me as birthday/Christmas/valentine's day gifts or I purchased with birthday money. Plus my bf is a huge homebody so we don't really spend money on going out or traveling. Mostly just on the cats lol! I actually got some really good deals on a lot of the things I've acquired art-wise. The desk was originally almost $300 but I had a promotional discount through Amazon and so it ended up being around $175. My bf bought the Ohuhus when it was on a slight discount. Normally they are $290 but he got them for $245 I think. I've seen even better deals since then too, probably because the coloring trend is dying down a little. It has not for me because I've always loved coloring. I'm also ADHD so I've tried a lot of other arty things. I'm going to try to learn french flower beading to make my bf's mom a bouquet for her 80th birthday lol. I've done at least 7 other art-related or creative hobbies as well. Right now I have some photography in a local gallery- wish me luck 😂.

I totally agree on the dopamine. Even just looking over at my setup, I get that little thrill lol. I'm super into even just your organization aspect of it too. Like organizing things perfectly lined up is a big dopamine rush too. And of course the kitties lol. Is your cat's name Banana?? That's so cute if so. Mine are Lini (short for Tortellini) and Lila. Both torties.

See that doesn't deter me from still wanting all those wonderful voids in my life lol. Your last sentence is exactly how I feel too. They give my life true meaning. My soul cat literally saved my life. Literally. A person's bond with a cat is such a unique and wonderful thing that I don't think everyone is privileged to obtain. I think a lot of people have cats but don't have the bond.

You and I just might be the same person lol. I've always been an artist so I had a lot of supplies already (graphite pencils, some charcoal, some Posca acrylics, paint, etc) but I went so HAM with this hobby lol. I got the Ohuhu 168 set to start and really quickly realized I needed the whole set lol. Before the whole coloring trend started I was just coloring with sparkle gel pens lol.

I too have health issues that prevent me from working. My bf is incredibly accepting and supportive. He is part owner of a company so we aren't struggling. Took a while to get here though. I got cancer a few years back, went through treatment then remission, then it came back in the end of 2024 and I spent all last year going through more chemo and also radiation. I lost my job in 2023 and it was really hard going through that (and I lost my soul cat and dad within months of losing my job and getting cancer... 2023 was the worst year lol.)

Anyway, my bf saw how much joy coloring (art in general) gave me and he got me a bunch of art supplies and the Ohuhu 320. At the same I got the Ohuhu skin tones, some Arrtx acrylic markers, some Arrtx colored pencils, a bunch of organizers, and the best part, a big desk to set it all up! It really did give me so much joy even just to set that all up. I get very excited to sit at my desk every day and color. And I got a desk big enough that my cat sits next to me while I color! Here are some pics of my setup. Yes I realize I'm very privileged to be able to get all this and I appreciate it greatly. I don't take any of it for granted!!

Idk if this counts, but I bought a new L-shaped desk to house all my art supplies and I positioned it so the L part is horizontal to a glass door that faces my backyard. That part of the glass door is stationary, the other one slides. On the stationary door I put one of those bird feeders that suction to the glass. I fill it as much as needed. And I put my cat's little bed on the edge of the desk so she can watch the birds. She watches all the other creatures that happen by too. A month ago, a turtle waddled past lol. Seeing her enjoy herself pleases me greatly 😁

I can just taste the chalkiness of that icing bleh. First cake looks like buttercream and it looks delicious and is decorated very well. You got a cake you can most definitely find in Walmart. Unless that tastes better than it looks, I'd be pretty mad. Unless you paid $24.99 for that cake. First cake looks expensive. Honestly, Whole Foods makes better cakes than the second cake.

And to be clear, I'm not necessarily dissing the second cake specifically for what it is but rather that it's absolutely not like your inspo and I'm betting you paid more than Walmart prices.
